san francisco
i am flying to a conference in SF tomorrow and staying a few days afterwards. what should i check out apart from the really obvious choices? i have a travel guide, but just to have something to hold onto, i tend to drift around mostly. any CoG'ers living there and maybe want to meet for a beer?

The coolest thing we did in San Francisco was Alcatraz, I'd say. That's obviously a bigger deal than a lot of things you can do, though. Another favorite of ours is getting fresh fortune cookies from the fortune cookie factory.
