"So, a man walks into a bar..." is a generic setup for a joke.

Random thoughts:
I did consider the suicide thing as well. As for Korra returning bender powers, does that mean she can bloodbend as well? Boo for Korra and Mako. Make should have stuck with Asami. I agree with wanting to see more Bolin. Fun side note, I was watching this as my wife was napping on the couch. She woke up near the end and after about five minutes she asks, "what's up with that guy's (Bolin) stupid face?" I try to explain the over the top expression and him being comic relief and she replies, "No, he just has a stupid face." So there is that... I am almost disappointed we didn't see Lin without bending. I thought she could have grown as a character much more with that added aspect. Also when Korra started air bending, I just assume that it was because Amon didn't know how to shut off air bending powers. The fighting in these episodes was just amazing. From Korra trying to save the fleet, to Iroh's aerial battle, to Mako breaking out of the bloodbending, it was just spectacular. In the current council, are there any non-benders on it? I don't recall there being any and adding that would be a big step toward bringing real equality. I am guessing (and hoping) that we will see a lot more of the Lieutenant. He was really the only loose end that was not completely tied up. The Equalists are weak without leadership and he could fill that role. As for Tenzin popping out the kids, he should keep at it. Maybe in a few centuries, air benders won't be an endangered species.

Well in the past the Air Nomad's were represented by an Air Acolyte on the council. So I'm assuming the only requirement is representing a certain nation.
Also, Yakone looked more like he was in a Southern Water Tribe nation. Northern Water Tribe had a awesome fortress and what not. I guess they figured it would be a hard sell having Yakone that close to Katara without being found out. Although she was probably with Aang in Republic City until he passed.

So I caught up with the last half all in one go and really enjoyed it but they really have some issues with pacing. I also really disliked the "dump everything in a flashback" thing. I feel that they could have dealt a lot better with Kora's "awaking" and with revealing everything about Amon if they'd explored it as Kora connecting with her spirit side. Have all the pieces of the puzzle come together as she is beaten down and has her walls broken. Oh and also most of the characters are just utter idiots. Seriously.
But in a way that's mostly just nit picking, I hugely enjoyed it liked the darkness of the boat bit and frankly Asami makes me feel all funny and tingly I had kinda hoped they would go the root of her being able to defeat the block because she can blood bend as I think it would be really interesting to have the avatar have to deal with the temptation of that power buuuuuuuut I understand why they didn't given everything else. Much like there were multiple cities in the Earth and Fire nations, the Northern Water Tribe was probably made of multiple cities as well. They only showed the capital in TLA.
(my assumption).

Or the capital was all that remained after a century of war with the Fire Nation, but after the war ended they began to recolonize the north pole. If Republic City can spring up in 70 years then it would take a lot less time for settlers to start some hut-filled towns.

True. Not to mention Pakku and a crew of waterbenders were going to help rebuild the Southern tribe. I'm sure everyone's advanced some by now. Also with waterbenders not being kidnapped left and right; may have cause a little population boom.

As it was written this is more or less true but what I mean is they could have very easily had more flash backs with a more complex story (Ang having to hunt down Yakone only to find he has two sons and so on) that layered clues as to who Amon might have been. Korra could then match up what she learns with clues in the present and come to the conclusion her self.... rather than just have her randomly stumble in to the one person who could spend 10 minutes just telling her what she needed to know. Korra is simply does not play an active role in working out who Amon is.

Why would Aang hunt down a normie? I'm sure he and Toph looked in the city, but he could have been in any of the four nations. Then he's a plain ass tribesman with a "new face" now.
I liked the Tarrlok story. Maybe cause when it started I screamed "I was right." But it was no real way to connect who Amon was without Tarrlok. Yakone was all but old news. A name Tarrlok threw out at a meeting no one paid much attention to. Hell, I don't even know why that flashback kicked up so strong. In a way that happened like Aang knew all along and we being a jerk. But until she got blood bent, who could he even know this the story she's got to learn. I think I would have preferred spirit world talks over flashbacks, but they already said she wasn't really that spiritual. Also, they didn't teach her to go to the Avatar state at all? Aang was popping in and out of that all the time. I mean even that one crazy Earth General forced it.

Yeah, I think getting your bending taken away is the moment when the Avatar would say fuck this shit. BAM. Even that night he kidnapped and surrounded her would have been over whelming. Even that dream where Amon got her. Didn't Aang wake up in the Avatar state cause he thought something jacked up was really happening.
I know it maybe a spiritual thing, but at some moments, you'd think the defense mechanism of the Avatar would come in hand at moment like this.

It probably would have if she'd been more attuned spiritually. I think our impressions of what being a young Avatar means are biased because of Aang. He was probably one of the most spiritual young Avatars ever thanks to being raised as an Airbender and being faced with a much more dangerous world.

Yeah but see the whole spiritual thing and lowest points seem like newish stuff. In the old series most folks make it seem like it's used when the Avatar needs to save themselves.
