Thanks to yet another double XP weekend, I grinded out the service stars for Engineer and Sniper and I'm pretty close for Support. I also ranked up 8 times and got the last of the all-kit weapons. I just need to start service starring those
The P90 is godly in the new Close Quarters maps, I service starred it once in under an hour, maybe 5 matches total.

And there's a Premium double XP event this weekend as well. More shooty shooty!

Gunship... man, so many good times in Desert Combat. We'd spend hours in that thing. They finally get it (again).

I grabbed Premium the other week using that b-day coupon but wasn't able to get around to the game until today, but I've run into an issue since I played the game last and curious if anyone has found a fix for this...pings aren't showing up in my server browser or on the server detail screen. It's not even just the numbers, I'm not getting any "ping" info (bars), so it's makes any connection to a server without the city in the title a crap shoot unless I want to run cmd line ping to each server.

I've tried every "fix" I can find, adding an ICMPv4 rule to Windows Firewall, turning Win Firewall off, bypassing my router, turning off Avast, running Chrome and IE both as admin...combinations of all of those and all of those combined and nothing seems to work. Has anyone ran into this and found a fix for it?

Oh, and I got a new ISP this morning and even I plugged back into my old Comcast modem...still nothing.

And because I just have to brag, this is my new ISP, behind my router (can get close to 100/85 if plugged directly in)

Sometimes I feel like a bad person for not playing more BF3. Skyrim distracted me and it was down hill from there.

I love BF3 so much and I can't wait for the MOAR Vehicles! DLC.

Yeah, more people need to start playing again, then I don't have to worry about server ping. I can just join whatever servers you all are on.

I'm so freakin' jealous. How much does that come out to a month?!

It's a local SF-Bay area ISP and they charge a flat $50 a month (my bill is literally $50.00) or you can buy an entire year at $450 ($34 a month). They wire by building and my apt complex just got hooked up to their 100/100 service, which is the fastest they have in my area...no modem, my router is plugged right into a cat5 plug in my wall.

There are a few buildings in SF, and more rolling out, where they've upped people to 200/200 service.

I was a little nervous as when I was talking to the tech as he was activating the port... I asked how far away I was from the actual fiber and he said that for my area of the East Bay, they run fiber to the middle of the city and then my building has an antenna (I think some kind of microwave) for the last hop. I thought while I might get good download speeds, low latency, gaming style traffic might be an issue but I spent all night in the PlanetSide 2 beta and it was silky smooth. I'd tell you what my pings are in BF3 but...yeah.

Edit: and to give some perspective, I was paying Comcast $64 a month for their 20/7 service, which was typically 10/3 or 15/4 off peak with much higher pings.

Re: me not seeing pings...has anyone else run into this recently? I see a lot of people having issues with a recent update that might have been rolled out in the past week or so. I'm hoping this isn't just me. It's hard to tell, the search functionality on the BF3 forums leaves a lot to be desired.

Unfortunately I haven't seen this so I can't help, but I haven't played in about a week and a half either.
