Game Recommendations
It's black Friday shopping soon. So i'm looking for some help from my fellow gamers for my future mom in law Claus. My future bro in law is 14 yrs old and likes to play games that move. He likes games like Call of duty, Call of Juarez, The Simpsons Hit and run...as long as it's a game where there is lots of action and lots of stuff to do...moving and moving and more moving. The games have to be "T" or "E". Although mom in law claus will allow M rated games that are not in a realistic setting like Halo. He has an Xbox 360, PS2 and a PSP.
What do you recommend?

What about a game like Skate? Definitely lots of moving around. Project Sylpheed might be another good option, despite the low review scores it's still a fun game at its core.
Edit: Dynasty Warriors 6 might be another option. Last edited by Goronmon; 11-25-2008 at 11:14 AM. |

How about something like the Dynasty Warrior games? Lots to do, lots of stuff going...probably not something he would normally get, but something that is fun if given to you.

Well, there's lots of moving around, lots of T rated hacking and slashing, and there are still objectives to keep moving towards. Plenty of characters, so plenty of play time as you go through each characters "stories".

I really enjoyed Gun. You should be able to find that for cheap.

Endwar is going to $22 off somewhere (Best Buy?), that might interest him. Also I'm enjoying the hell out of Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, but he might get bored unless he likes to tinker with stuff.
I'd also say Too Human and Paradise City, but again not sure if that's really down his aisle, but Burnout moves (and is cheap, with lots of free stuff). Last edited by Iron Past; 11-25-2008 at 12:11 PM. |

Burnout: Paradise City (as IP mentions) is perfect - and with all this continuing free DLC, he'll have plenty to play! It's the gift that keeps on giving!

Burnout, seconded. Isn't CoD M-rated?

I'd recommend Crackdown or Mercenaries 2. Crackdown is M, but should fit the "unrealistic setting" requirement.

Great suggestions. Thanks to everyone so far. Please keep them coming if you have more. M rated games might be ok as I said...it can' be Bully or GTA. CoD might be ok. Just throw em out and i'll write them down. The more i can give mom in law claus the better...again, thanks for all the help so far...

1. Enough with the "Clause" schtick, it is getting annoying.
2. 14 years old? Liked Call of Juarez(a game I too am thinking of picking up). Burnout would be a suggestion, as he seems to like the arcadier fare. If he has not played the Orange Box, that is a solid option. Though I have found Portal is a bit over the heads of many..well all..of the console only gamers I know.

Hmmm, Fallout 3 would fit the "games that move" description. It also gives you lots to do, and has FPS elements in it. And it would probably fill the "M rated games that aren't realistic like Halo" slot.
I vote Fallout 3, yes, Fallout 3. So what if it's gory as hell?
