An idiot at E3: Crappy photography strikes back!

I'm back in L.A. For E3 2012. Here's my first batch of pics while I was picking up my lanyard this morning. I ask forgiveness for the terrible quality. I'm am amateur and I couldn't figure out the correct lighting settings with all the cloudiness and such.

Okay, first update:

This was painted live by a performance artist whose name escapes me at the moment. It was a pretty cool show with a live DJ:

The one on the left kept yelling out "Get a picture with Asian Meg!":

Adam West!:

I waited 3 hours to play this for 10 minutes:

Power Rangers:

The ladies of Tekken, with one cut off:

Harvest Moon 15th Anniversary mural from top to bottom:

Lego Batman and Robin:

Star Trek 3D Demo presentation:

Gigantic Sonic statue:

Borderlands 2 statues:

Peter Moore:

Elder Scrolls Online wall:

Large Adventure Time balloon:

Activision Booth:

Skylanders Giants area:

Bad shot of the Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron demos:

Gigantic screen displaying Activision trailers throughout the day. About 300 people would form up about 2 minutes before the Black Ops 2 trailer, which is comprised mostly of already shown footage:

The Capcom booth, with screen showing trailers of Lost Planet 3, Dmc, Resident Evil 6, and Street Fighter X Tekken:

Namco Bandai booth:

Gorgeous cars decoed with Tekken characters:

The Zombies attacked the Tekken ladies:

Konami booth:

Zone Of The Enders HD. I only tried the first one, since I knew the 2nd game would hold up well, but I couldn't tell you how much better the first one looks since I haven't played it since it came out:

MG Rising demo:

Castlevania: Mirror of Fate. This game didn't sit right with me and I coudn't figure out why, until the next day. It has 3D graphics.

Sega booth:

Aliens: Colonial Marines:

Sonic All Stars Racing:

Disney booth:

Epic Mickey 2, which looks fantastic. Warren Spector took the stage each day to demonstrate the game:

Ubisoft booth entrance:

Zombies walking through the booth:

EA booth:

Right in the center of the booth was a slightly elevated stage that would vibrate with each bass beat in the trailers that were running:

Lollipop Chainsaw:

NOS booth:
There was a Snoop Dogg appearance outside but I only snagged a picture of the bus and an accidental picture of the NOS girls dancing:

Resident Evil 6 guy:

Microsoft booth:

Forza Horizons:

Gene Simmons:

Dance Central 3:

Fable Kinect game:

Halo 4 multiplayer demo. It was a 4 hour wait:

Sony booth:

Outside wall:

Kratos statue:

Sony All Stars demos:

Contrary to the conference there was a lot of Vita game demos set up:

Portal 2 In Motion, a paid DLC expansion:

Nintendo booth:

Nintendoland:

Nintendoland game demos:

Legend of Zelda, which was fun:

Takamaru's Ninja Castle, which wasn't:

Animal Crossing, also quite fun:

Donkey Kong Crash Course was good but frustrating:

I just noticed I didn't get a shot of Luigi's Mansion, but it was very much a Pacman Vs. clone.

In lieu of a 3DS section, Nintendo had models walking around with 3DS systems showing off upcoming games. This woman had Castlevania:

Oh look, it seems like Nintendo is getting every feature of current gen gaming into the Wii U:

Capcom had a display just outside the West Hall advertising Street Fighter's 25th Anniversary:

There was a video game art display between the two halls that was very museum-esque. It had live violin and piano video game music plus an open bar:

Great shots. It's like I was there. Whats up with those Tekken cars? Poor cars. A Lambo and Ferrari too

That video game art museum was wonderful, someone should send that to Roger Ebert. Probably my fave part. Also wtf is up with those inflatable Wii cars ha ha. Did you get any pics of those?

I walked by the booth for that company (whose name escapes me at the moment), but I didn't really look in. They were pushing those inflatable things pretty hard though as they had large banners hanging overhead.

It was really pretty, and it was as ridiculously over the top as the trailer made it look. The blade mode (bullet time for swords) was neat. I enjoyed the 10 or so minutes I played of it, but afterwards I was left questioning whether the gameplay would hold up over the course of several hours.

The video game art section looks pretty cool. Kind of wish there was an actual video game art section at my local art museum. Also seems like there is a lot of money to blow at these events. And next we will hear how low profits are for the year. Kind of crazy to see those life sized statues. Wonder where they end up after E3.

They were definitely beautiful. I think it would be awesome if there was an opening for a video game art museum. With the way technology has advanced and the art for some of these games, it really could bring in attention.

Great shots man. I'm looking to budget to go to E3 next year.

I'd be interested to know which games those paintings came from. I think I got maybe half of them.
