Camp NaNoWriMo?

Most people are aware of NaNoWriMo. For many, myself included, November is quite possibly the worst month to dedicate your life to shelling out a novel. Last year, Camp NaNoWriMo was created. In both June and August, the novel-writing extravaganza will be underway.

I've decided that June has no real roadblocks for me, so tomorrow morning the journey begins.

Anyone else doing this?

Tempting. I've been meaning to start writing again, but I'll be on a cruise for a week in June without my computer. Maybe I'll use June to attempt a rewrite on my first NaNo novel attempt.

That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm rewriting/finishing the story I submitted for our little peer review group.


It would definitely be tough to write on a cruise/vacation. Not sure if I could do it. There's always August though.

There is a screenplay I need to write but I just accepted a ln associate producer job. All my free time is eternally wrapped up!

I'm going to try it. I've got a bunch of ideas I meant to solidify into a story, and I'll have a ridiculous amount of free time in June (when I'm not touring Cape Town or attending summer class). I've never tried one of these before, since I'm always in the thick of school when they happen.

The setup for my story actually came to me in another thread Ink made awhile back about comic story ideas. I've expanded and developed the framework for that one in my notes into something resembling a narrative. I've got the setup, some major plot points, a villain, and some twists all sitting in my head.

Theoretically, I should already be doing this every day...

I did get the idea for a Dark Fantasy story after spending too long playing Dragon's Dogma. And reading Berserk. And listening to the soundtrack for Record of Lodoss War.

Dragon's Dogma has me DREAMING Medieval horror O_O

Well, here's me. I don't know if we can form a cabin now that things are officially underway, but we can give it a shot.

I plan on putting in a major day tomorrow since my Saturday is a bit busy. Looking forward to finally getting this story on paper.

Part of me wants to jump in this. But so ill prepared. I figured my next attempt at a NaNoWriMo would be based on the Karma Society. Ethereal beings who have to crossover to our plane of existence for an investigation. Lot of unassigned bad luck's been generated out nowhere. Seemingly not cause by anything like broken mirrors, and other supposed nonsense. So much, even if it was fair for them to do, it's far too much to just divvy up and assign to every living being.

Well, I sat down and produced... about 1200 words. Cool. Just need to do that 50 more times.

I've had a looooooong morning, but I've pushed out just over 3800 words. Thankfully, this should cover my busy Saturday if I don't find time to write.

Now, as a reward, I get to do homework...
