Dragon Age PC

Yes, I know that there will be a General Gaming thread for this, but let's face it, the PC version of this game is going to be a completely different beast from the console version. The playing view can be set to overhead mode, the editor is going to offer all sorts of goodness, and the inevitable technical questions/issues will need to be addressed.

That said, all you fuckers need to stop preloading this game on Steam.

Now.

Seriously. Stop preloading so I can download it!

I'm very excited for Tuesday! As soon as my classes are done... ah, it's going to be great. This will be the first major release I've picked up on launch day for PC in awhile, though, so I'm almost afraid I'm jinxing myself. I'll probably have some arcane driver problem and not be able to play til the weekend anyway. *bipolar excitement and despair* Okay, now I go away, so as not to clutter up the thread before it properly begins.

I got mine with the survey discount from Impulse, so no pre-load for me.

I ordered mine on one of them round things with the hole in the middle and the rainbows on the back. It's shipped already, so I can follow the tracking number obsessively.

Thanks for letting me know I can preload it.

I've been putzing with both the character creator and having problems getting my characters loaded: Is this working for everyone else? Anyone play through the flash game?

I finished the flash game. It was damn good. The stuff you could unlock was a nice freebie, but I honestly would've played it just for the heck of it. In fact, if they had released it as a XBLA game, I would've bought it.

68% preloaded! Woo hoo!

I'm also very very very eager to play this game. I just can't justify throwing down money for this game when I have so many other games to play right now. I just fucking started Hell's Highway tonight... argh!

Sadly I don't have a gaming PC so I'm stuck on the 360. Enjoy yourselves though .

Finally bought my copy through steam, just the regular version. I just did not see the value of $15 more dollars for the collectors edition since I was only interested the warden keep part of the collectors edition and it would be cheaper to get later separate if I really wanted it.

I hope with moding I do not regret getting it through steam though. I think it was harder to install mods for the steam version of oblivion and I hope it does not end up that way for this one.

I also ordered my copy of the CE from Amazon. However, they're not offering release day shipping, so standard shipping for me.

This is pretty much the only major game release I'm waiting on but do intend to buy, this year. Borderlands and Torchlight have me completely captivated at the moment, Left 4 Dead 2 is coming soon, and I still haven't finished Batman: Arkham Asylum, once I'm done (like you're ever done with an aRPG) with those.

But I'll look forward to picking it up down the line, and have no doubts that it'll be excellent.

Picking up my Collector's Edition from EB on Tuesday. I hope my machine can run it at least passably.

And if not, then I will wait until I can build a machine that can run it well. I'm totally set on playing this on PC.

I watched the quick looks on giantbomb.com for both the PC version and the Xbox version. I thought it looked like they did a good job with the interface on the console version, but the PC just looked SOOOO much easier to actually play it. That sold me on getting the PC version since I was on the fence. I had $20 off at Amazon so I went that route instead of Steam. I've been checking the tracking number religiously since it shipped on Friday.

Argh. I wish my PC would run this game. I don't really want to play this on 360, since I'm an old-fashioned PC gamer at heart. The problem is that my current PC is a practically unupgradeable Dell piece of crap and I'm not in any position to think about getting a new one.

Life is so hard.

I grabbed my copy through impulse since I had a 20% off coupon, used my savings to grab the deluxe version that includes the DLC.
