IL2 Sturmovik Demo Out Now on the 360

Just wanted to let you all know that the IL2 demo is available to download now and it is as gloriously awesome as I thought it would be.

The arcade mode is easy while still maintaining a slight realistic feel but the actual simulator mode is hard as hell and seems to be about as close as a console game has come to a true flight simulator. With no radar, third person view or cockpit stabilization I survived just over 2 min, shot down a single bomber but was too close and the explosion knocked my plane into a flat spin where I then proceeded to crash into a second bomber which was flying below me sending us both barreling to the earth in a magnificent ballet of fire and death. The sound in this game is also very visceral and will take full advantage of a good 5.1 setup.

I can't wait for the retail release!

Oh that's fucking AWESOME. I have to drag mine back out of storage now.... I have the green button version though, not the blue button one from the 2nd issue. I remember when I went to Gamestop to pick that puppy up from my original pre-order.... these two kids were just standing there, mounths agape, at the size of that box, and the fact that it was a game, not a game system.

Bit of a thread revive, but has anybody had chance to check this out on PS3 yet? I was also wondering if anybody had tried it with a flight-stick? I just tried the X360 demo and it was quite entertaining in arcade mode, downright brutal in simulation. Unfortunately, I made a mistake when I bought my flight-stick all those years ago as it turns out my Microsoft Sidewinder Precision doesn't work on my Microsoft XBox 360, possibly giving me yet another reason to buy an additional console
