Man, that phrase just does not mean what it used to.

Did Dead Island even receive a lot of DLC to be included in a rerelease?

This tweet caught my eye:

A game called Sledge Hammer is out this week. GameFAQs asks "Is Peter Gabriel a playable character? Or is that only on the Genesis version?"

Definitely check out 21 Jump Street. Very funny movie.

Hah! Looking at the link for Spider-Man, and saw that preorders get a playable Stan Lee skin.

Brilliant.

Ooh, a new Madea movie! I have been absolutely dying to go see a Tyler Perry movie in the south on opening night. It's no exaggeration when I say theaters here will show a new Tyler Perry movie on half the screens and they'll all get sold out. I've been in movies with mostly black crowds before, which is always a party, but never at an actual black movie. Seems like that would be quite a crazy experience.

I got to play a little Spec Ops and a Little Spider Man this weekend but my time was limited on both to about 1 hour each before I was kicked out of the store.

What I saw about Spec Ops I liked. Unique feel but at times NUT crushingly hard. The sandstorm dynamic was cool, the shooting was handled well but cover was not handled with the grace I was accustomed to. At times it seemed random if you would get shot and killed behind cover. But I do like that 1-4 bullets can kill you.

Spiderman.
Aside from swinging from the clouds and not buildings(which I guess is a MASSIVE problem for many fans) it was fun. Controls were wonky with Spiderman leaning into his walking and running animations so that instead of being able to turn nimbly he seemed to sort of slow to a stop. Made for some fucked up camera angles and difficult bits. The sensitivity just seemed borked and no amount of system settings seem to get it spot on.

Battle system was ripped out of Batman completely, all the way down to the little warning sign above Spiderman's head to tell him to counter.

Good stuff.
The first boss is the most epic of epic epicnesses I have ever played in a superhero game. It really captured the feel of spiderman. That was wicked.

Walking around the city was ok but would have been amazing had the controls not been a bit...slick feeling. For example it was VERY hard to walk in a straight line with Spiderman jiggling from left to right with the barest of accidental movements to the stick. Couple that with the speed at which he moves and UHG.

However the GFX were friggen sweet and it did feel like spiderman...if a bit drunk.

I am saddened beyond words that the Sledgehammer game is not about this man:

For Fnord's sake, how did you not put the most important release of 2012 on this list?

Yes my friends, Unchained Blades hits PSN on the 26th!

Edit: I'm with Lekon on Sledge Hammer.

I'm pretty sure at least a couple of the other Spiderman games have had his Spidey sense tingle when he needs to counter.

Yeah, that was at least in the Spider-Man 2 game if not also the first.
