Bethesda Announces Elder Scrolls Online
RPG fans, prepare to sign your lives away. After years of rumor and speculation, Bethesda today officially announced The Elder Scrolls Online. The MMO is being headed by Matt Firor, former Dark Age of Camelot creative director. It will be set a millennium before the events of Skyrim, and revolves around the Daedric Prince Molag Bal's efforts to suck Tamriel into hell. The PvP sections will involve a three pronged war for control of Cyrodil and the throne of the Emperor. Beyond that we know almost nothing. Game Informer will be parceling out bits of info over the rest of the month, including a teaser and the first screenshot tomorrow. The Elder Scrolls Online will be released in 2013 for the PC and Mac. Source - Game Informer |
Another MMO that no one will play because they will never give up the crack rock known as WoW.
|
I do not have high expectations, but I will keep an eye on it.
|
Do not care. Do not want.
|
We will see. If it is good then of course I will be all over it. Same as any game.
|
Here's to hoping that Bethesda is able to bring some new gameplay mechanics to the MMO genre. It can't be that impossible, despite what most other attempts have shown so far.
|
Bethesda... MMO... the fucking bugs man, holy shit.
|
Oh well.
One of my last good RPG worlds goes to the shitter. I'll always have Skyrim! |
I will be looking forward to seeing what they have in the works.
I just hope they realize they need to maintain the scope of the previous games on an even larger scale. It needs to be huge (like wow), not just feel huge. coming out next year? |

I may be alone in this, but while I enjoyed Skyrim, I feel as if I have moved on from the series.
Games like Dark Souls and even the Dragon's Dogma demo have more engrossing gameplay and a better combat system. I will keep an eye on this, but I'm pretty indifferent about it. |
I don't have time for MMOs anymore, so as long as Bethesda continues making the best singleplayer sandbox RPGs in the industry, I don't care. But if they think this is the future of the Elder Scrolls games? Well, as Narradisall says, 'I'll always have Skyrim.'
|
That's exactly my problem though Kato. Everytime a company announces XXXXXXX MMO they stop doing anything else for that IP in the series. Then the MMO usually shits all over the lore etc in favour of providing more content.
Even WoW, the titan it is, has that issue. Hence my negative responses. Skyrim will probably be the last TES game of it's like we see. |
I will lead a band of Nords to conquer Elsewhere.

Morrowind...was freaking huge. If I can run across Morrowind in a few minutes in this MMO...it'll be fucking lame. |
But when will get that single player rpg Redguard game? O_o
|
I really hope it's not just another WoW-alike.
|
So this will be a fp view mmo?? Do those exist already?
