Wing Commander Saga Releases Tomorrow
 

In the world of PC gaming, it seems sometimes that if you don't make something, the fans will do it for you given enough time, and that principle will hold true tomorrow for fans of the venerable Wing Commander series of space simulator games.

A team of fans, working a solid decade with the open-source Freespace 2 engine, have created Wing Commander Saga, a strikingly professional-looking free sequel to the long-running and much-loved series, which EA and Origin are graciously allowing to go forward.

The game releases tomorrow morning, March 22nd, at 11am PST.

There are Privateer remakes out there. Look into Vega Strike and Ascii Sector.

I thought this was a remake of 3 and not a sequel? The website is a bit vague though.

Well, if you watch the trailers, the names mentioned all seem to be original ones. They do mention Blair, but from the context it sounds like he's a side character, not even the main guy. I seem to recall the main character being mentioned as some other handle.

Time to unbox my 360 ACE-EDGE, which from what I understand gets picked up as a 360 pad when plugged into a PC.
