So, I’ve been making decent progress on my backlog lately. The most recent example being that I finally got around the finishing the story mode of LittleBigPlanet yesterday evening. It’s a fun little game, though it’s interesting comparing the loose feel the controls in LBP to the much more tight and precise controls of Super Meat Boy. There were times when I felt like I had to fight the controls in order to get past certain points.

So, at this point I think it’s safe to say that Dragon Age is a very good game. One thing I definitely underestimated, however, was its difficulty. Even on normal I am finding that I’m running into quite a bit of trouble on certain sections. Finally got my hands on this much anticipated RPG. To make the first comparisons, it’s similar to a cross between the old Baldur’s Gate style of games and more recent games like Oblivion. Though, with the view zoomed out to the isometric viewpoint it leans more towards the old-school RPGs.

Finally loaded up the newly released action RPG Torchlight from Runic Games. First off, this is definitely a Diablo-clone and it also bears striking similarity to the previously free-to-play Mythos. Which makes sense when you consider that the Flagship Studios employees that worked on Mythos were all picked up by Runic Games to work on Torchlight.

Finally got my new system up and running very late Friday night (though, technically it was really early Saturday morning). Had some initial issues with the OCZ solid state drive. The first one died shortly after I put together the system over a week ago, and replacement required some not so straightforward firmware updates. After a long of fiddling around and with no small amount of help from the OCZ guys over at their forums I was finally able to get it updated and ready to go.
