I'm back from sifting through the Mary Sues, sex scenes and self-inserts on the web to bring you the best in amateur writers who, for some reason, decided to do fanfic. This time? Metroid.

I've always appreciated novelization fics, mainly because they're tricky to write. Magus523 more or less made his name on them.

His early fics were hit-and-miss, but there was still a sign of a good writer in them. IMO it was not until he started on Metroid IV: Alone in the Stars...

As a lot of you know, I've mentioned that there are actually Good fanfictions out there.

Sadly, one rule of the internet is that 90% of everything is shit, and it takes sifting through it to find the remaining 10% that makes it all worth it.

So I decided I'm going to look for the 10% so you don't have to, and give you examples of the good stuff. Ready? Here we go.

Recently I had a friend who told me he was still playing Guild Wars. remembering that GW2 was in the works, I decided to get back into the swing of things.

Guess what? It's still fun. My Fevered Dreams sin may be a build no one really uses anymore, but I made a few tweaks to the build and it's working just swell. Conditions for everyone!

PS anyone wants to get back into it with me, look up "Taeru Raigami", my PvE sin.

Lately, I've been drawn back into Halo 3. I got rid of most of my old maps to make more room, unfortunately, so I no longer have the extensive library of truly amazing maps from Forgehub that I used to. Looks like I'll have to start looking on there again.

I saw Dreamworks' How to Train Your Dragon recently. It was pretty damn good (read: awesome). I didn't expect it would be as great a film as it turned out to be. Definitely one to watch if you're into that kind...

And my allergies are going nuts.
