You have arrived at my CoG-blog, the home of my weekly-or-so "Scrapbook" column. 'Tis a very nostalgic journal wherein I reflect on a game from my past, often embarrassingly, and I then invite the community to respond with their own fond memories. That is my goal, at least.

Suave Peanut's Scrapbook returns this week after taking last Wednesday off for spring break. This week I will do something a little different and pick hardware as the topic.

THE NINTENDO 64 CONTROLLER

I remember the first time I saw it.

I believe it was the Sears at Deptford Mall. Sears isn't typically known for their gaming sales, and they weren't in 1996 either, but there was a Nintendo 64 demo kiosk set up. It was running Super Mario 64....

Wecome to volume 3 of my Scrapbook! This week I will be sharing memories of Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

I remember quite clearly, as a matter of fact, being in Toys R Us, seeing banners hanging from the ceiling announcing the arrival of "HEDGEHOG DAY -- FEB. 2, 1994"

I believe it was the Christmas prior, 1993, when I asked for (and received) a Sega Genesis for Christmas. I would regularly go over to the neighbors' houses and play the other kids' Segas, each time...

What is the deal with having friends lists on our profile? I don't get it, and I haven't really paid attention to it since the first of October, but I think I'll start adding my "friends" (Xbox Live, Steam, &c.) and making use of it. If you get a notification and want to add me... hell, I'll let anyone in. I've also noticed that the Colony's six-month anniversary is fast approaching!

Also considering which game to pick for my third Scrapbook, which I have decided to...

For my second Scrapbook, I have chosen Super Mario World. Now, community, I again invite you to share your memories! And, in case you missed it, here is last week's entry: Mega Man.

It was Christmas Day, 1992, when I first received my Super Nintendo. It came with a game that would become (and still remains) one of my all-time favorites: Super Mario World.

Now, of course, I had played Mario before. I had played them all on the NES: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario...

Here's the first of a new column I am considering. Here's how it works: I pick a game and share a story relating to it, a fond memory perhaps, and then I invite readers to share their own memories of the game. You could call it a scrapbook or a time capsule, a journal or whatever.

The first game I have chosen is MEGA MAN 2. Now, community, I invite you to share your memories of the first time you played a MEGA MAN game and what, if any, impact it had on you as a gamer.
