Just because I can't spend ten hours a day gaming doesn't mean I can't keep up on the latest from the game industry.
Easy Mode

I've logged a couple more sessions in Bioshock since my last entry and they certainly don't waste any time throwing Big Daddys at you, do they?
This highlighted one of my decisions when I started the game. Even though I've read, in threads on the game, how easy it is I still chose to play through the game on Easy. So far it hasn't diminished my enjoyment of the game. Sure it's been a breeze to take down the walking tanks and I'm never in need of medkits or EVE hypos. I suppose it ultimately comes down to what I'm playing the game for.
Am I playing it for the challenge of the game or am I playing it for the experience and the story?
With the gigantic backlog of games I have to plow through I'm more interested in the experience less the challenge. I'll save that for games like TF2, Trials 2, or Minotaur China Shop. Do you feel the same? Do some games lend themselves more to the experience and others more to the challenge? Or am I just being a pussy?

I have always bumped up the difficulty on games, but I was looking at the length of my backlog and decided to start lowering it on some games so taht I could go through them faster. I really think it is on a game by game basis. Also, the experience is the best part of Bioshock, so if you get that, who care what level it is at.

I usually play on Normal, but it's not wrong to turn down the difficulty of the game interferes with the experience of playing it.

I enjoyed Bioshock on easy too. I did have a go at normal but quickly (about 2 hours in) I got frustrated with the lack of ammo and EVE. Clearly I wasn't getting enough head shots or being quite efficient enough but still, it was hampering my enjoyment at that point. Around that time I'd got up to the 1st Big Daddy and there was no way I was going to be able to take him out. I would have had to do the wrench and infinite reviving trick and I'd rather play it on easy.

I think Bioshock was all about playstyle. I played on Normal and was always full on Hypos, heath kits, and ammo, but I had the upgraded hacking bonuses and hacked everything to protect me.
