My life and thoughts.
NaNoWriMo Time!
Three more days until the official start of National Novel Writing Month. This will be my first attempt at not only writing a "complete" novel, but doing so in 30 days.
I contemplated over the past several days on what subject matter to write and came to a decision yesterday. My book will be about the death of William II, king of England. I plan on it being a bit of a fantastorical novel, based in 11th/12th century England. It'll be written as a sort of assassin's biography. I'm still working out the kinks, but the story is coming together slowly.
I decided that mornings would be my dedicated time to write. At 7am today I woke up, got ready, and headed to the local coffee shop for a mocha and some serious brainstorming and outline writing before work. I have the outline done for the Prologue and first 6 chapters. So far, so good. I figure I'll be able to finish the remainder of the outline in time for Saturday's first writing session.
I'll post up excerpts from the novel occasionally here for those that care.

Nice! Mornings, huh? I could never write in the mornings (not my time, beside i would have to get up at about 3 am then). How much time do you plan on putting in a day? Also, when do you work that it lets you write early in the day?

I work at 9:30am and live less than a mile from work. This lets me wake up at 7am, grab some breakfast, and have a solid 2 hours to write.

I'm thinking maybe 1am. After work. I can unwind to some music and write instead watch Hulu like I do now.
Also I think it's fitting since my style is journal entries. Normally people write journal entries as end of the day wrap ups. |
