Fable 2: Final Impressions (contains spoilers)

I play WoW every now and then. When the patch was getting ready to come out, I played nonstop to prepare for everything: got pets, grinded factions, explored, went through dungeons (no good, though, because it didn't count most of them even though I had drops from the last bosses), etc. When the patch hit, I played non-stop for a few days. Nothing seemed like it could pull me away.
Then I saw Fable 2 was out. So I went out, bought it, and booted it up around 3 PM on Tuesday. I stopped at about midnight. Holy lord. I woke up the next day and played again. And again. I couldn't even take a day off, I HAD to play it every day! As of today, I'd finished the main quest, and was declared King after buying every property in the game. I had a family, and had gotten all of the gargoyles. The only quests left to do were mainly just the repeatable ones (Slave rescue, donating, shooting range, crucible, etc.)
However, due to the choice I made at the end, I had no dog, so no way of finding if those silver keys I needed were buried, no way to finish off the Archeologist quests, and no way to import my Pub Games character to teach the dog "Back Flip" and will now have to get all of the keys and tricks and expressions on another character. Which I want to restart because I was too evil too soon and now everyone hates me. And I'm hideous. I want to slowly notice the changes, not see that I've instantly become a monster after my first night in Old Town. The horns looked cool, though.
I wish I had the dog still. Which makes me wonder, what if they release some DLC that is enhanced by the dog being there? Will I miss out on my Hero because I made a choice that seemed like the right thing to do? Or will they patch in a way to get a new dog after enough people complain (and they will. If they bitch about rainbows in Diablo 3, they will bitch about this). Personally, I would have liked a cheesy "Hey, your dog's actually OK!" ending, no matter the cop out, especially if it prevents me from being limited in the post-story game.
Speaking of which, what the hell, man? I know that I DID technically beat the game, and that continued play is a luxury, not a privilege, and without a REAL story to drive it forth, there's not much left to do besides get rich and buy Castle Fairfax. But they gave me the impression that there'd be more to keep me playing after it was all over. Even loading screens said "Some quests can only be done after the game's over!" like there's some sort of deep epilogue, and stuff added into the rest of the game to keep me interested until they gave me some DLC. But aside from doing the final Fairfax quest, and buying Reaver's mansion, there was nothing else for me to do. I loved the Diary entries, though. Nice to know that he was a bastard after making a huge mistake and living way too long. I enjoy that it also showed that just because you're a hero, doesn't mean you're a good person.
Maybe the screen said "Some quests can only be "Completed" after the game is done, which makes sense, I suppose. Couldn't buy Fairfax and shoot the last gargoyle without Lucien being dead. But that doesn't make me want to keep playing. I've done the Perfect Crucible, don't feel like doing the shooting range, and can't finish the archeology quests. I suppose I could corrupt myself to open the demon door, which will open the last one, too, but why bother? I'll probably just get some weapon I'll never have to use. Doesn't matter anyway, lately the game just freezes up whenever I try to do anything.
And yet, I'm still playing another character. Stupid game. Stupid addictive brain.
On a final note, my wife vanished due to some glitch, and I couldn't find her again. How the hell did Lucien manage to kill her? Maybe HE had a glowing trail, too! Either way, do NOT move your family into the Homestead house. It seems to be VERY glitchy.

I know the archeology quest has some missions only available after Lucien is dead, but I'm not sure about any others though.
