Dead Space

I succumbed to the hype and picked up Dead Space this past Friday night.
I'm not going to go too in depth at this time, but so far I am really enjoying it. The mechanics are very tight, the graphics are excellent, and exploring the ship is a lot of fun. Sure the monster designs are somewhat cheesy, but I don't find that they distract from the game at all.
I don't really have any complaints about the game so far. I'm always hesitant to drop $60 on a game, but I don't feel like I'll regret this purchase at all. I'm just starting Chapter 4, and so far each chapter has been a nice length - long enough to feel substantial, but short enough to make me feel as if I am progressing on accomplishing something.
One final note - I'm not a big fan of shooters, but I find myself really enjoy the combat and weaponry in this game. The cutting/dismembering mechanic is a lot of fun, and fairly unique.

I didn't think I'd buy this game, but after JAYoung hyping it like crazy I thought I'd at least give it a chance. And now I'm glad I did.
I just finished chapter four last night, and I must say I like everything about the game, so much I even pre-ordered the movie on BD too. |
