From the twisted mind of arguably the most annoying (but loveable) poster on the internet comes an equally twisted view of reality--with the occasional dumb joke.
Back to Guild Wars

Recently I had a friend who told me he was still playing Guild Wars. remembering that GW2 was in the works, I decided to get back into the swing of things.
Guess what? It's still fun. My Fevered Dreams sin may be a build no one really uses anymore, but I made a few tweaks to the build and it's working just swell. Conditions for everyone!
PS anyone wants to get back into it with me, look up "Taeru Raigami", my PvE sin.

I put in 600+ hours into the original Guild Wars. I did buy Nightfall but what killed it for me was the move to the use of AI controlled characters. I never had a group of regular friends to play with so being able to easily find pick up groups in the original GW was a real boon. However, the developers steadily improved the AI of the bots that you could use in place of real players, and by Nightfall you could even level up your own special versions of the bots and equip them with high level equipment. It seemed to have got to the point where finding a decent pick up group was all but impossible making the game a lot less interesting for me. And, I define decent group has having more than 4-5 real players out of a group of 8 player/bots for a mission.
Damn shame. But I loved the simplicity of the 4v4 arena battles, played the crap out of that. |
