So Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is out. Does anybody care? I am interested in this game. The reviews are saying it is short. Well if it is 8 to 12 hours, that is where I like it for a FPS. So has anybody here played the game? Impressions?

It just came in the mail via Gamefly. It's still in the envelope but i'll give it a whirl to comment on early impressions.

The first was a decent game, the sequel seems even better. I'll pick it up cheap some day. FPS do not get full price purchases any longer. Usually $20 or less, but most of my FPS games were $10 this generation because I can beat them in an afternoon. I now reserve my $60 purchases for games that will last me a couple dozen hours at least.

I've bought it but haven't put it in yet. Will play some after I've hit some more stores looking for Fight Night 4.

I've got a real soft spot for revolvers and lever-action rifles, so I'm looking forward to some impressions as well. I'm especially interested in hearing about the multiplayer, if anyone's given it a shot.

I am about 4 hours in. Good game. I am not a fan of the two characters just because they are not so different that you would want to go back and do a level over with them.
But the graphics are good the voice acting is excellent, and its a western.

Multiplayer is surprisingly fun. Not something I'll play forever, but it should be a good source of entertainment through the summer at least.

I'll pick it up when it's $30.

That's what I was thinking, but I run into a bit of a conundrum. If I wait until it's cheaper, will anyone still be playing the multiplayer?
It's a hard life being a cheap-skate.

When it comes to the mandatory multiplayer in games these days, I just can't imagine it being as fun as BF 2 or UT or even COD 4. And Spectre-7 is right to worry. In 6 months the multiplayer in this game will be forgotten. I don't even know why developers even bother wasting precious time on multiplayer on a game like this when the obvious choice would have been coop and more time with story mode. I'm sure I will be able to pick this up in a few weeks on GoGamer or Amazon for around $30, and I intend to do so. I may try the multi, but I bet it will be fun for about 30 minutes before I realize I would rather play BF 2.

Of what I played, you will get your money's worth for under $20.

I'll agree with this. Graphics definitely nice...voice acting good...it's been an easy game to pick up and play so far. I love the concentration mode. That is a nice addition for a FPS. I don't play a lot of them so if this is common or similar, it's new to me :o.
I wish I made it out of the tutorial level, due to being stuck on the "shoot the rafts that you can barely see" with a cannon that sucks:eek:. Less cannon...more of everything else. I'm guessing once past the tutorial level, it won't play like a Medal of Honor/CoD clone.

I heard that the PC version, along with the console versions, has auto-aim. For PC that is pretty lame by itself, but apparently there is no option to turn it off. Can somebody with the PC version confirm this?

Well doing some research, I found that the PC version does have auto-aim, but only with Ray while he is dual wielding pistols. I am ok with this, and will buy the game as soon as it gets to around $30;)

Well the demo is out for PC and 360. So check it out. I really did not like the auto lean/crouch. The auto aim seems to have a way to turn it off on PC anyways, and I wish I could say the same for crouch and lean. Developers are catering more and more to consoles. And it is showing. I like to have control over my character in a game. Not an insane Operation Flashpoint amount, but I can handle lean and crouch ffs. In the demo you are in a house shooting out a window. I had a shotgun and my guy would auto crouch to the point where half of my shot kept going into the house instead of my intended target. And the auto crouch kicks in several feet from the window, so simply staying back may not always be an option. So as you are walking around in a fire fight, you guys keeps going up and down and all over the damn place. Hey guys, why not just take all control away and let me watch your little movie. I don't know if I will skip this game because I really want more westerns. But I will definitely make sure the developers get as little of my money as possible. And I can cross my fingers that a PC mod will give me some more control of my character. God forbid. There is a decent game in there somewhere. It is just buried under shitty game design decisions. I'd like to kick the guy who thought auto crouch was a sweet sweet idea. I'll take cover any day. And not auto cover. Allow me to decide.
