You can't take this game too seriously as you never know what you'll stumble upon. Looks like this pirate has retired to the good life in Sacred 2's version of Florida(note the orange tree on the right).

I found that, and a few other places like it.

I don't know if the game has anything like the Jason mast from the first.

One of the Easter Eggs is the fact that every single gravestone inscription name is a member of the official forums that played and ranked online in the first game.

Man, I feel like I've only touched a small corner of this game every time I hear someone talking about it. How I wish I was in my early 20s again and spent hours a day doing nothing but playing video games. Also, loving the madness therein. I miss my Diablo clones. :)

I've started playing Sacred 2 again on the PC after hearing all you guys talking about it on here and somebody at work just starting out on the 360 version. It's better than I remember it being, but the camera is incredibly bad and it's dragging the whole thing down for me.

I took the suggestion from another thread of starting on Silver difficulty and ignoring most sidequests on the first playthrough.

I'm playing as the High Elf and I've just upgraded my fireball to home in on enemies. It's made the whole thing much easier.

Just don't ever upgrade the fireball spell. Keep that timer DOWN.

There are three different camera modes, have you tried all of them? I used fixed.

I'm currently level 14 and my fireball is level 3. It's on a 3 second timer at the moment and it kills most trash in one hit and bosses in 3-4 which is perfectly fine for me. I combine it with the meteor move and nothing has stood a chance so far.
Should I be developing my other elemental skills at all? At the moment I'm all Fire and it's working fine, but I know on D2 you couldn't get away with being single element. Is this the same way?

I've been using free camera for most of the game, which is fine until I get into a city or go into a cave. It just doesn't do a good enough job of making everything visible, and if there is a building between my character and the camera, it doesn't just make the building transparent, which it really should.

They recharge in only 3-4 secs for me, but do pretty good damage.

Merry Christmas, Sacred 2 style. if there is a trophy/achievement on the console versions for completing a set the christmas island quest series is an easy way to do it.

Christmas island isn't on consoles. Very sad times.

Just don't ever upgrade the fireball spell. Keep that timer DOWN.

I never use the fireball spell, and I think modding it is a waste of points. Blazing Tempest + Incendiary Shower kick all sorts of ass. They both have ~1.2s cooldowns. Ideally I'll have them at 1.0s mounted, because that's about as long as their cast time.

Should I be developing my other elemental skills at all?

I keep ice needles leveled to the max on my pure fire HE, but I'd never use a skill to focus on it. It's good in some circumstances, especially on huge bosses. But one can easily survive with just fire attack spells. There are elemental resists, but I don't think there are elemental immunities but I've only read some guides. Never played past gold. And you can probably guess, but Grand Invigoration is a great spell to keep leveled. I think I ate 30-40 runes above the max level for that skill, heh.

Anyone have any newbie tips? Favorate classes and so forth?

This thread (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=9247) has some good info in it too.

Cheers for that. :)
I pretty much had the rune thing figured out last night, but it's nice to have confirmation.

One last quest... armour that slows down regen, is that life regen or CA regen?

CA I believe. I'm not sure, but I think the Armor Lore skill or whatever it's called reduces the penalty. Or it could just be coincidental that I'm finding stuff with lower penalties now I have Armor Lore.

I've been playing the 360 version as a Seraphin and its starting to get a little boring with the way I've upgraded my character. I'm around level 28 and have completely focused on Swords, Dual Wielding and the Pelting Strikes attack.

Here's how I fight now (in the orc territory). I run directly to my destination, letting 25-30+ enemies follow me for a period. I then stop and attack with Pelting Strike 5 or 6 times in succession, taking out all 25-30 enemies. An upgraded Pelting Strike allows me to cast it back to back, as its animation is about 2 seconds to pull off all the strikes and that's all the time it needs to recharge. And since I'm dual wielding with heavily upgraded swords in both hands, I'm just a swath of destruction. Usually, I don't even need to drink a health potion, but do so anyways towards the "Drink 1000 Health potion acheivement" and why not? I'm shlepping around over 350 of them.

Lather, Rinse, Repeat. I have since taken the suggestions of others and focused solely on the campaign for this run and then may follow up with a second run at a higher difficulty.

I love the world they created, but one thing I do not like is how quickly enemies re-populate an area the you cleared out. I prefer the Titan Quest/Baldur's Gate (console games) method of once an area is clear, its clear. But then again, those games were very linear and didn't require you to revisit areas for multiple quests.

This thread reminds me I really have to put some serious time into the game.

I was trying to analyze why I don't mind it in Sacred 2 and hate it in other games, like for instance Far Cry 2.

I think the reason it is ok for me is because there are no trash mobs in Sacred 2 on gold difficulty or above. Everything you kill is worth EXP. and has a reasonable chance of dropping good loot.

I'm really enjoying this game now although the camera still bugs the hell out of me.
I mostly have it on Fixed, but there are times when it simply doesn't let me see far enough ahead of me and I have to switch to Free and go for an almost over the shoulder camera mode to be able to see where I'm heading.
If Fixed mode would let me zoom out further and not become obstructed all the time when in cities and caves, then it would be fine.

Okay, rant over.

Still soldiering my way through Silver as my High Elf. I'm level 25 and have a level 10 Fireball that homes in on enemies and does splash damage, and on slow moving targets or ones that stand still to attack I use my Incendiary Shower, which is at level 6 and also has three upgrades for extra damage and faster meteors.
I'm upgrading Grand Invigoration at every opportunity at the moment. My Fireball is on a 2.2s cast time and my Shower is on a 3.4s timer.

I've just noticed I still have some white level 2 sleeves on, so I'm looking at replacing those ASAP :)
I've also only just figured out that you can compare any item with your equipped equivalent by mousing over it and holding Alt.

So anyone see anything awesome yet?
Say like the Jason mask in Sacred 1 or the GIANT weapons in it?

I looted a flaming guitar that is in the sword class with my Shadow Warrior. I'm not at home at the moment so I can't say the name, sells for about $105k at lvl 15 and is brutal.
