After a couple weeks away, the Tiger Men are back. On this week's show: Normie has a List, Heinberg will come back to the Young Avengers...eventually, and Cap causes some controversy. As always, you can click here (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?p=296205) to join the discussion, and for a look at what you'll find in stores this week head over to Diamond (http://previewsworld.com/public/default.asp?t=2&m=1&c=6&s=428).
Picks of the Week
Detective Comics #854 - The debut of Greg Rucka and JH Williams III's run on 'Tec featuring the new Batwoman. If it feels like we've been waiting for this book forever, it's because we have been. Tales of this book have been swirling since 52 ended more than three years ago, but controversy, schedules and major events have conspired to keep it out of our hot little hands...until now. When she debuted, the focus seemed to be on Batwoman's person life (e-shay's a esbian-lay) but Rucka and Williams want to focus on her character more her orientation.
Dark Avengers/Uncanny X-Men: Utopia #1 - Call me a sucker for marketing, but I'm dying to read this event book. Conflicts between headlining groups are nothing new - the meet-fight-team up thing has become a joke in it's own right - but then again there haven't been too many teams like the Dark Avengers. Instead of contrived circumstances which force the parties to fight, we get to teams which have real reasons not only to fight, but to hate one another. Oh, and Marc Silvestri is drawing it. Nuff said?
Question of the Week - A story coming out of this weekend's Heroes Con has reignited the debate over digital distribution of comics. Longbox digital comics (http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=21693) looks to be the "iTunes of comics", allowing users to buy and view comics on a wide range of computing devices. The suggested price of the comics would be $0.99, with the potential for discounts on bulk purchases (ie: trades) and subscriptions. The developer of Longbox wants the software on everything from Kindles to iPhones to Xbox Live & WiiWare. Would you read digital comics? What would it take to get you to read them?
