The Gamerscore Blog (http://gamerscoreblog.com/team/archive/2008/10/10/nxemkplwb.aspx#comments) has posted new information and photos of the upcoming web based integration of the Xbox Live Marketplace on Xbox.com.

Once the New Xbox Experience launches you will be able to browse Xbox LIVE Marketplace on your PC (even using text search) – and if you see something you like, you can add it to your queue and even purchase it right there and then. As soon as you get back home to your Xbox 360 and turn it on, the content will begin to download. Think about it – by the time you finish getting out of your shirt and tie, or skirt, or pajamas, or pink fuzzy bunny outfit, you will have a new Xbox LIVE Arcade game to play or a new TV show to watch.
The new web based Xbox Live Marketplace will go live simultaneously with the launch of the "New Xbox Experience" on November 19th.
How much time will this waste at work/school?

Will the downloads start while you're gone if you have the option enabled where your 360 will download things while it's "off?"

I wonder, if you were to leave your 360 on while at work if it would automatically start the download after accessing the MP from your PC or if the 360 has to off in order for it to work properly.

I'd imagine not, since it would still be off and can't be remotely turned on by the computer. I'm with Grifter, though; if I keep it on all day, can I download stuff to it remotely?

Oh man...it's going to be too easy to find stuff and spend money. Not good for my budget...

Time wasted?
I'll buy games at work so I can download and play when I get home. That's time saved in my book.

Very nice! I remember a version of this feature being talked about waaaayyy back when the 360 first launched (I think it was Tycho who made a post about it at PA). Nice to see they didn't forget about it

Was there any reason to think they wouldn't keep using MS Points?
If you hate them that much, you aren't going to buy stuff off live anyway, regardless of how you access the marketplace.

Should be much more convenient to browse for games this way, even if you happen to be at home.

They need a wake on LAN feature. Leaving it on all the time is not reasonable.

I think it would red ring if you made a habit of that.
I do not quite get this. Because they would have to enable some remote access, like with the PSP and the PS3, or the way Sling Media works. Which is not something that consumers really want. It leads to much larger power bills. People who want/need, this tend to want server access remotely for business.
Maybe as a way to gift a game or points a la Steam or iTunes, but as a way to buy shit your yourself, I do not know.

Ya, I see your point. But, I know I'll spent pointless hours surfing the Marketplace instead of ACTUALLY working.

Time to build an IP based LEGO Mindstorm robot to turn on my 360. :)
I expect to use this primarily to set free trailers and demos to download, rather than to actually buy stuff.
There were some new trailers from TGS yesterday I need to remember to download.

His day has finally come. Go Robbie, fulfil your purpose.
I think considering that amount of time I read news while I'm not at home, and my generally forgetful nature, that this is a great idea! The text search is awesome, and something I've wanted for a long time. I'd probably use this from home even over the NXE interface.

I'm sure leaving it on will work, but yeah, that's gonna RRoD your ass.
They really should have a timed interval where it turns itself on every few hours, checks to see if there's anything in the queue, and then turns off if no.

The 360 already has a "low power mode" for continuing the download after you power down. Why couldn't they just allow you to put it in this mode, sort of like a PC sleep mode where the ONLY thing that it would do would be download.
