So Warner Brothers has been developing a Green Lantern flick from Greg Berlanti, the creator of a few TV shows including Everwood and Dirty Sexy Money. I was not entirely thrilled at this news when I first heard about it last year. Latino Review, however, has a review of the script and its apparently kick-ass. My excitement for this just went up substantially.

Latino Review's...Review. (http://latinoreview.com/script-reviews/84)

PS- Word on the street is Ryan Gosling is in talks to play Hal (http://www.latinoreview.com/news/exclusive-green-lantern-may-have-a-notebook-5506).

Hmm...wonder where I can find this script. I've really enjoyed reading them (the Darabont version of Indy 4 and recently, Max Payne).

Sounds great, although I don't think of LEGION as bad guys, in retrospect they fit the bill pretty well.

I hadn't even heard that a Green Lantern movie was in the works. I'm not a huge fan of the character, but from the script review I'd so watch this. It does sound like a really solid story, and given the success of TDK and this year's Marvel films I think they realised just what a good movie can do. It took them long enough.

If you like reading scripts, I highly recommend you track down the leaked script for Tarantino's upcoming Inglorious Basterds (misspelled intentionally), really great script. The gazillion or so unproduced Superman scripts are fun to go through as well.

Hmm...we should do a weekly or monthly script reading club here...

I can't see Ryan Gosling doing the part properly. Sad to see that David Boreanaz is not in the running for the part. The reasoning that he's nearly 40 while the part is 27, pfft, Hollywood never follows that rule. Hell, Gary Oldman is 50, and plays Lt. Gordon just fine. Age never really matters in Hollywood, so it just sounds really stupid. And he did such a great job in the Justice League: New Frontier movie.
Gosling is a great actor, just utterly wrong for the role. And I can't think of anyone except for Boreanaz, he was kickass as Angel, and kicks ass as Booth on Bones.

And like Doc Finger says, I can't really see LEGION as the main villian, but it would make for a pretty good movie. Sinestro would probably make an appearance, but only in the background and as a GL, not the supervillian. It will be interesting to see how the original GL, Alan Scott, makes an appearance, as Hal Jordan, the Guardians of Oa and everything else that would be in the movie are wholly unrelated to his story.

But man, I can't wait to see this movie.

Man, I've been waiting so long to start this campaign.

Tahmoh Penikett as Hal Jordan.

He was great as Helo on BSG, and every time I see him, I think, "Damn, he should play the Green Lantern."

Wasn't Jack Black going to be the Green Lantern at some point?

Okay, that's it! I think we're going to have to ask you to leave now.

Please don't make a scene on the way out.

My mental eye is blinded by this image. Not cool.

See! (http://www.comicbookmovie.com/comic_news/news/?a=1374) I knew I wasn't going crazy. It was never set, apparently, but they were pursuing him.

It was set enough that there was a script written (http://www.iesb.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=122&Itemid=99). I thank the movie gods that it was never made.

Wasn't Jack Black going to be the Green Lantern at some point? It was going to be Jack Black playing GL based on a Robert Smigel script. And if that sounds like a recipe for a goof-ball comedy, well when this was in the works it was supposed to be. Thankfully WB came to their senses and canned it early.
