The artwork on this one is very nice, and the game play looks very unique for a DS RPG. Come to the states, pwease!

Never realized how ugly DS graphics are. Still look like it could be fun though.

At least those look good. PSP has spoiled me I guess. PSP doesn't have Tetris though.

Having messed with the demo last night, I found this incredibly fun. You get a small portion of a level to run through, and you get to play with the Book of Prophecy to test out on a few Goblins and a flower.

Action takes place on the top screen, with the pages of the Book of Prophecy displayed on the lower screen. You can attack with the X/Y buttons, and use the Book of Prophecy to "code scan" with the B button. You can defeat monsters with combo attacks, or use "Judgement Link" (A button), which lets you juggle a monter into space if your timing's good.

From what was provided in the demo, I see the potential in Avalon Code, and messing around with the codes of monters/items alone was hella fun and very addictive.

This should make up for The Dark Spire being pushed back to April. :D

Lil' something on the Book of Prophecy. (Siliconera (http://www.siliconera.com/2009/03/06/originally-avalon-code-had-a-virtual-book-of-prophecy-to-write-in/))

In the early stages of development Avalon Code’s Book of Prophecy was a virtual book. “The inspiration [for the Book of Prophecy] actually came from the DS game system itself,” Yoshifumi Hashimoto, Scenario Writer and Producer at Marvelous Entertainment, explains. “When you hold the DS sideways it looks like a notebook, so I thought it’d be fun to write things in there. From that concept I thought of making a game that you can rewrite what happens in the game.”

Unlike the final game Hashimoto envisioned players would actually write and edit text in the book. “I thought it would be fun to see an enemy that read ‘Fire resistant monster’ and erase the ‘Fire’ to make it an ordinary monster.”

This is looking kind of interesting too. I don't really need another RPG on my DS right now (I'm just in the throes of DQIV and have DQV waiting in the wings, amongst many, many others) but as long as this doesn't vanish a week after it is released, I'll probably try it out.

I need to grab the demo and see if it grabs me.
