I started downloading a torrent last night. About 340MB, and it's only one file of many in the torrent. By the time I shut down my computer last night, it had gotten to 90% complete.

I used my computer a little this morning, but didn't start the download running again. Tonight, I open up FlashGet, file still says 90%. I resume the download, and now it's down at 41%. What happened?

Oh, and when I look at Total Downloaded, it says about 320MB, though Completed only says 144MB.

At a guess? It thought it had downloaded 90% and when you restarted it did a hash check and found that it wasn't exactly true. It's happened to me once or twice.

Don't use flashget for torrents!

also, download another torrent. 45% in hash fails

get uTorrent (http://www.utorrent.com/), that thing wasn't made for torrents anyway.

On a different torrent, where I had a few of the included files not working, I right-clicked and did a Manual Hash Check, which showed I was missing some data (though this time, it was only a few percent). I ran through this Check and Start again a couple times, until all the files in the torrent worked.

I don't remember having this problem with FlashGet before. I may have to check out an alternative.

I really hate torrents, but if you have to download them use bittornado. It seems to be the best of the torrent downloaders.

As far as download managers go, I never really liked Flashget. I use IDM now and I just can't use anything else. It does everything I want it to do and it works the best from what I've seen. I've tried all the others (ie DAP, etc) and IDM just works best.

I use Free Download Manager. I don't find the need to use anything else.

Also, I second utorrent.
