The rumor goes that Myles Kennedy of Alter bridge will be touring with Led Zeppelin next summer. Speculate all you want and here's a video of him singing Kashmir:

At this point, I don't care if he joins them or not. He seems to be infatuated with that Krauss woman and doesn't seem to be in it for the fans. If Page, Jones, and Bonham Jr. are willing to commit, then by golly I'll be there in a heartbeat.

But...in my head I can just say that they were replaced 30 years ago and that they never went on a hiatus and...oh who am I kidding!? Yeah, it'd be like how the Who are now but I don't give a damn. I want to see Zeppelin damnit. I'm only 16 and I didn't get to see them back in the day, sue me :(

I get wanting to see them (I've never had a chance either), but if I pay the premium price that a Zep show is going to cost (and it will cost an arm and a leg, make no mistake about that), I want to see Plant. Not some guy.

It's the same thing with Queen now. I don't give a fuck about Paul Rogers.

I wouldn't really want to see Zep WITH Plant these days. His voice is pretty shot now.

And I saw Page and Plant 12 years ago doing mostly Zep tunes, so I have no need to go past that personally.

Dunno which is better... zep with a plant who can't hit any of the old notes anymore, or zep with someone other than plant, that oddly enough can match the recorded songs better than the original.

Tough call =P

What they should have done was get the singer from Great White. They have Zeppelin tribute album and he sounds so much like Plant it is creepy. They actually did a damn good job on the tribute.

I'll just continue to listen to the old records and remember them for what they are. I hate these half assed "reunion" tours that have half the band missing.

Bonzo is dead and his kid took his place, to me that's fine.

Replacing Plant though... well lets face it, his voice is fucked and if they do go with they guy up there, at least he has the power in his voice.

Plant's biggest contribution (besides his genitals) was hobbits anyway :p

This is how I feel about it too. Bonahm's legacy somewhat lives on in his son and, like many of you said, Plant's voice is fucked which forces them to play down a key or so I have read. They can do without Plant.

That'd be more like missing Page then Plant.

If Plant's voice wasn't so trashed I'd have a problem with it... but seriously, you guys heard him recently? It's fucking awful. It's Zep without Plant whether Plant is there or not.

I agree , no Plant no Zeppelin. And I also agree Plants voice is shot especially for live stuff. He could still do these songs decently in a studio type setting but his voice is far from what it used to be. I would want him there just for the show , not because I think he is a great singer any longer ( though he is not bad at all doing some of the stuff he is doing now with Krauss ).
