Redone Emoticons

Everytime I see this white halo bullshit around the emoticons I want to cut my tongue out (hey I take meds for a reason). For this reason, I've made these:

You get the idea. You'll probably notice the sides are a bit flat, that's because I have neither skill nor talent, my general goal was for them to be less shit and not get blood on the carpet. Also my German blood loves sharp angles as opposed to horrible round things.

This one hurt my brain, someone else can probably do much better, but it's kinda in itself confusing and therefore meta, so I think I got away with it.

The sensible answer would be to do away with emoticons altogether, but I guess that's just expecting too much.

I suspect that sensible is somewhat perspective dependent. My version of sensible includes PNG emoticons with nicely blended alpha channels. Each to their own, I suppose. ;)

Actually the better solution is for all of you to give up this emo shit and go with the default settings.

It's a computer screen, dark is always better. White pages, especially on LCDs, are like staring into a car's headlights on high beam.

And if people can do crazy shit with alpha monkies or whatever have at it, the icons have been driving insane I've been here.

XTREEM and edgy? Hell no. No one's looking over my shoulder, and I wouldn't give two craps what they thought if they did. I am however quite drunk, and the darker the better, thank you very much.

It's light blue behind all the body text.You use the default settings, too?
