And now, for some thing really different, gameplay footage from the upcoming PS3 title Nobi Nobi Boy, from Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi. Be forewarned, the video is weird. Really weird. Please do not watch the following video before operating heavy machinery.

I saw this yesterday and couldn't help to thing this is what one of the stages into insanity would be like for me.

For some reason it reminds me of Vib Ribbon.
I wish the trailer gave a better picture of what the game was about... because it can't just be about moving multi-colored shapes aside... can it?

Weird. Just weird. The samples for the music sound like they come from the old arcade game Mappy...
No idea what to make of it until it looks like more than a 1980's version of flOw.

What the hell was that? The music was weird, but the game itself looked like a someone's first foray into collision detection and physics.

I guess I'm the only one who kinda got the whole "sperm into a tube" vibe from it. I figured somebody else would have mentioned it by now.

Um...ok then.
This is a PS3 game...is it full retail? Because, it sure doesn't look like it should be.

From what I've read of Takahashi-san's work flow this might well just be a prototype of some basic gameplay mechanism he wants to explore. It might turn into the basis of something really neat, or it might be scrapped.
Or he's finally lost his ever-loving mind and thinks the whole "game" concept is stale.

I hope this one comes with a toad to lick so you can really get the whole experience.

Well, if the fun is there I'll pay for it... but not based on what I've seen so far. Katamari wasn't an impressive-looking game at first blush either.

Katamari is about rolling a ball and sticking shit to it. That doesn't sound like fun but it's one my favorite games and I'm sure I'll fall in love with this one too.

Yeah there is nothing unique or cool here in terms of actual gameplay.
I really hope that's just an interactive title screen or small aspect of the rest of the game or something, because I love Katamari, and I can see the style is in place here with the crazy colours and music, but there's just no game there.

I am confused...
That trailer looks quite a bit different than the original prototype.
This makes me wonder if it was meant to be representative of the final game at all.

My thoughts, too. Why bother to follow the track at all?

Haha, wow. So weird. Katamari was so full of awesome that I'm willing to withhold final judgment for awhile. GrenMag could very well be right, this may just be a small sample of one of many steps in Takahashi's development process.

It's the 2600 from A Tar Ree!
Seriously it looks like an Atari game but the music is freaky.

If that's a downloadable game at a decent price, sign me right up.
If it's like that but for $60, I'll probalybly reysist.

That looked awesome. It looked like they have another quirky idea that sounds stupid, but is just fucking awesome to play. I have 0 doubts. Cannot wait to see more.

From the music alone I can tell it's worth buying.

I really doubt that this video is the final game or anything. It seemed like more of a teaser to me.

This is the title screen or something, not the game. Someone taped a demonstration (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/122910.html)of the actual game from October of last year. It's nothing like the gamevideos footage.

I agree with those who liked the music - it sounds like more awesome crack music. I really dug the Katamari soundtrack - not really to listen to on it's own but it really made the original Katamari for me. They are definitely going to have to make this game more interesting to get me to play though.

And I thought the "Atari Title Screen" video was strange, but this shakycam video is 10x weirder.

Well, it has one thing in common. After watching it, I again said to myself, "What the crap was that?"

I thought that the original design was worm-like and its body wasn't separated into balls, amiright? Seriously though, what the fuck was that?
