Yikes. The makers of Terminator Salvation have recalled all copies of the game for the PC. According to publisher Evolved Games, an error in the game will prevent users from installing the game at all. "An error (-5006:0x80070002) has occurred while running the setup. Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications. If the error still occurs, please contact your vendor: Evolved Games."The error is limited to retail copies of the game, and does not affect digitally distributed versions. Evolved promises to replace copies of the game already in the hands of consumers, but has not as of yet detailed how.
None of the console versions of the game are affected by this bug, and are not recalled.

To show how much this makes me smile, I would need to repeat the word "Ha" about 2^99 times. therefore, I will simply write (Ha * 2^99).
This is really unbelievably awesome. I mean, this is just a lack of testing plain and simple. There are no excuses for this. I hope they refund everyone affected by this embarrassment, including the retail stores who had to actually stock that pile of shit.

too funny. i picked up UFC tuesday morning and asked the guy at ebgames i anyone had been in to buy Terminator (consoles) and he said he hadn't even bothered to take the games out of the box yet. I'm playing it on 360 merely for achievments but it is a dreadful, empty game.

The movie is getting smalled by critics.
They just announced that the Sarah Connor Chronicles has been cancelled.
And now this...poor Terminator franchise.

So, who doesn't know this basic truth by now? Movie tie-in games, especially ones that are shot out to coincide with a movie premiere, suck balls.
I can't feel too sorry for folks that got stung by this. It doesn't make it right, nor does my lack of sympathy indicate approval of the dev, but it was easily forseeable that getting this day one wasn't neccessary.

Does waiting around to buy a movie tie in game somehow make it not suck? Not usually. I'd say the only reason to wait is to get it for $5. I don't think games like this even get patched. Once they fix the issue, that will do it. Off to make the next shit game.

Waiting wouldn't make the game suck any less, but at least in cases like this you'd be forewarned about the massive bug and have a better idea of what the final product would be like.

Actually there are valid excuse for this. But knowing that would take the time to read the story instead of jumping to conclusions. This is NOT a software bug but a manufacturing defect. In other words the people pressing the DvD have either made a mistake or had a fault in the system. So it's a error that happened after the devs and publishers had finished testing that could have happened to any game made by any one who uses the same people to replicate the dvds.

Unfortunately, this seems to be a trend that goes beyond movie tie-in games. It's almost just good sense when it comes to buying games period. Wait a few weeks to here what others have to say. For consoles apparently this also applies, but more like 3 years you have to wait for all bugs to get ironed out;)

the only reason the wolverine game was any good was the fact it was a wolverine game before it was a tie in. They just had money thrown at them to tie it to the film in some way at some point during development.

it's no proof at all. Spend some time reading things instead of acting like a dumb ass. This could have happened to any game ever, thankfully it just happened to happen to a rubbish film tie in.

Shit, must cost them a load to recall the whole 4 games that have been ordered....
If you look at their profile, their influences include "Bethesda."
