Had a craving for some Gran Turismo lately, and our PS2 doesn't like to play GT4. So I've been playin' some classic GT2 in ePSXe.
I've got a Nissan Pulsar GTi-X I picked up used, and have so far just been playing around in the Sunday Cup races. Put a turbo kit in there and a better muffler and that brought the horses up to 274, and I upgraded the tires and suspension to make up for the extra power in the handling.
Problem is the transmission. On the stock transmission, it gets up to 156mph, but it hits the rev limiter with still more power to give. The "sports" transmission made it worse, thing tops out at 125 or so. I need the full customization option, though I never know quite what the hell to do there. I'm not a mechanic, I don't really understand how to design gear ratios beyond tweaking the gears where I see obvious problems (on the tuned cars it's usually the 1st and final gears I run into issues).
