Ok, I know you guys are only so many people, especially since you're not taking user submissions officially at this time, but would it be possible to have the news on the front page be just a little more varied? 8 of the 9 first stories on the front page are directly 360 related, with that 9th having to do with a game on the 360. I know you guys doing the posting have a console preference, that's fine, but the front page is starting to look like this is a 360 fansite. There's other news out there just waiting to be posted, it'd be nice to see it get some attention.

I think Microsoft just having it's keynote at TGS plays a large role in that.

Yeah, the non-360 news is definitely lacking.

There's a reason for the proliferation of 360-related news, and it's not what you're thinking...
I went searching for some Sony news this morning. There's not a lot out there right now.

There's a great story about premium themes on the PS3 now.
Seriously though, I'm sure it's coming.

That's already been posted here, I think!

There are others, but you get the point. I'm not trying to give you guys a ton of crap, but it really would be nice to see some of these things thrown in there on the front page as well. They may not interest you directly, and that's fine, but they may very well interest your readership.

Yeah, like those.
Anyway, feel free to post these things somewhere else on the site and we can move them to news if appropriate.

Well, there's plenty of news going around about LBP, there is Echochrome levels, Resistance 2 on PS3 mixing with the PSP game.
Not accusing you guys of ignoring the Sony, etc news or anything, just maybe it might take a little more digging to find the stories. :)

I've got a couple in the Handhelds section already. If a PM is required to get them moved, just say the word. Again, I'm really not trying to give you guys crap, but it's nice to see a more even distribution of the news. If you need the help, I can do my best. ;)

Sure, a PM may be good.
I know you're not trying to give us crap.

We're in (hopefully) the final discussion of how to handle user submissions, but they should be ready to go shortly.
Gorvi for mod.,,,
..I mean, great job guys. :D

That sounds great but what will be different about the way news is submitted at that other site? I'm hoping there is still a plan in place to freshen things up a bit on the front page news compared to that evil :) site.

I had work this morning, but once I got home I hit most of those stories. We're not intentionally doing this, it's just that MS held a press conference at TGS and neither Sony nor Nintendo did, so they're ahead in this particular news cycle.

There has been next to zero news in the past few months. TGS was just here, and I cannot name one interesting piece of news from the event. N4G.com consistently has top stories that are opinion pieces from blogs, or asinine info like Dead Space went gold.
I have been following gaming news for over a decade, and I cannot remember the last time there was so little news. I promise you, though, that we are not being biased in our reporting.
