Harmonix, MTV and Electronic Arts announced today that they will be releasing a Country Track Pack for Rock Band and Rock Band 2 that includes 21 country songs for $29.99 on July 21st.
So far these are the tracks confirmed:
1. Alan Jackson - Good Time
2. Brooks & Dunn - Hillbilly Deluxe
3. Dierks Bentley - Free & Easy (Down the Road I Go)
4. Dixie Chicks - Sin Wagon
5. Drive-By Truckers - 3 Dimes Down
6. Jason Aldean - She’s Country
7. Kenny Chesney - She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy
8. Kenny Rogers - The Gambler
9. Lucinda Williams - Can’t Let Go
10. Martina McBride - This One’s For the Girls
11. Rascal Flatts - Me and My Gang
12. Shania Twain - Any Man of Mine
13. Steve Earle - Satellite Radio
I'm not big into country, but I'm sure there are readers here that are and may be somewhat excited about this release. The PR piece also goes on to say you can either play the tracks from the disc or download them to your 360 or PS3.

I hate Shania Twain SO much.
That said, this is cool for people who'll use it, I guess! Although, I wouldn't get it, it's nice to see Rock Band diversifying it's music portfolio; it's good for the survival of the platform.

there are some songs on there that haven't been made available for download yet. Hopefully they will be available separately.

I know I'd pay double for The Gambler. The rest can rot.

Why does good country never get recognized? These songs suck.
Good Time is okay, but The Gambler's the only standout track.
And fuck yes Elektrodragon, where IS our industrial pack?

Sin Wagon is a tough, tough song on guitar/banjo.

they (and I - wife wanted them) already have these for DLC:
2. Brooks & Dunn - Hillbilly Deluxe
3. Dierks Bentley - Free & Easy (Down the Road I Go)
4. Dixie Chicks - Sin Wagon
I'd buy The Gambler as DLC but not the whole disc.

And the Drive-By Truckers, Lucinda Williams, and Steve Earle songs are in the alt-country pack. I guess the track pack doesn't include any Toby Keith though? Not that I have a problem with that.

Never coming out because it would sell 7 copies?

These songs will sell. That's the main reason they are there.

There are supposedly 8 more tracks, only 13 were announced.

Her Crossroads '07 set wasn't that bad imo.
