Activision today announced the lineup of first week downloadable content for Guitar Hero World Tour, and in a bit of a surprise they've made the content exclusive to the Xbox 360 for two weeks.

First is the free content: the Guitar Duels - special compositions from Zakk Wylde and Ted Nugent - will be made available outside of career mode with a free download.

Next up is the usual premium content. An REM track pack from their new album: Accelerate - “Horse to Water,” “Man-Sized Wreath” and “Supernatural Superserious.”

Also coming first week is a Classic Rock Track Pack, which contains “Rock and Roll Band” by Boston, “Hot Blooded” by Foreigner and “Jessie's Girl” by Rick Springfield. All of the songs in the track packs will also be available for individual download.

Finally we get a single: "No Rain" by Blind Melon

Are they sticking with the GHIII prices for GHIV DLC?

I always thought it was offered as a free download to correct the mistake of not including them on the disc in GH3. I don't get why they're not on the disc in GH4.

DLC exclusives are the new black. Forget full game exclusives, DLC exclusives are the new trend in gaming.

I can't believe they are sticking with those shitty mother fucking guitar duels. They are the opposite of fun, and every review I read of 3 mentioned how much they suck. Do they just not learn from their mistakes?

Well now there's two duels. The ones in career mode are just regular play the song to the end, trading off licks, no attacks. GH3 battle mode will be available as a multiplayer mode only.

Still think they should of dropped it completely, in GH3 it was a fucking abortion of gameplay. Of course in my opinion after GH3 Activision next move should of been issuing an apology, a full refund, and promising to never make another Guitar Hero game again so YMMV.

So what do the other band members do while the guitar duels are going on?

I'm still probably going to get the game because there are some songs I really want to play in it, but I am so damn tired of these combative modes of play on a damn music game. I just want to play music, by myself or with friends. There need not be any hostility here! Music does not have to be a zero sum game!

Just more reasons to buy Rockband 2 before GH 4.

Does it really matter if you end up buying both?;)

So, is World Tour DLC compatible with GH3?

Ugh. The DLC looks like shit, just like GH3.

There's some cool stuff on that disc, though. If I can get it cheap, I will be picking it up.
