Nothing that can be imbedded as of yet, but here's a link to a video of the new Yakuza game at Gamersyde (http://www.gamersyde.com/stream_8933_en.html). This is the actual Yakuza 3, the Yakuza game that came out in Japan earlier this year was a side story.

Wow, he learned a special move by watching a girl defend herself from being sexually assaulted. Also, they seem to be including a Wii with each copy of the game.
I still need to grab the first two Yakuza games 8-(.

Dating sim, golf, and being a Yakuza badass, all in one game. Interesting...

They really need to work on the animation. Everytime they showed the guy walking the Bee Gees started up in my head.

Wrong guy to say that too. I have a PS3 and a PS2 and both of the original games and like them alot.
And this looks like shit(animation mostly).
Oh look...I am not the only one who thought that. So strange.

Then if you don't think something looks great, qualify it, don't just post a negative one liner. I can't stand that crap.

So what's the deal with the Feudal Japan setting? That one has been getting some extremely crazy reviews!
We still getting that one?

The game looks like hot shit. If there are only slight animation issues I would consider ourselves lucky. I would prefer that being the thing needing polish before release rather than actual design which they seem to have done in spades.

So?
Should I care?
Should anyone care?
Your the one with the chip on the shoulder about my posts. Just treat my posts with the same disdain and internal humour I treat yours with.

No need to be a jackass. I give anyone shit who just goes around posting something negative without backing it up. As a community I've always held us all in higher regard than that, we're a step above the GameFAQs community, or so I thought.

Gentlemen, please. If life has taught me anything is that the Yakuza are meant to bring us together, not tear us apart.

Ah...right.
That's almost exactly the words I was going to write upon your first post but...

@Violent
the Yakuza games have always had good design. Your right there. They show their heritage in that.

Sorry you have a problem with me wanting the forum to have a higher standard. Carry on.

How on earth does that look bad
While its got the open-world suffering in terms of the most minute attention to detail the animations look pretty good to me - especially in light of everything thats being animated (tons).
I've heard nothing but good things about Y1 and 2, and this is probably as close to Shenmue 3 as I'm going to get so I'll be there on day one.

Either way, to bring this back to an intelligent discussion about the game, I'm not sure what to think of that video. It looked like alot of mini game and no solid gameplay, although what little hand to hand combat they showed looked decent.
Visually, it looks very sharp, I'd say just as good or better than GTA IV.

No matter what it has the backing of #1 and 2 which gives it a damn good shot.

That's some beautiful animation, the cutscene faces especially.

They're good. Well-written, adult story. A great sense of place. And the fighting system is great for bare-fisted brawling. Sword-fighting got a little messy, though apparently the PS3 side-story Yakuza fixed that up a bit.

That video is awesome - i just wish i knew what the heck was going on! :)
I was sold when I saw he got the fish. Awesome! ;)
I really liked the fighting in Yakuza as well as the city visuals, but all the posturing in this extended trailer really bored me. Skipped ahead and I think the mini-games and the chases may be very cool. The story will be laughably over-the-top with tons of silly posturing, but I think it is more charming and funny in small doses. This video was too concentrated a dose. . . I know I found the silliness amusing in the original game.

I feel pretty much the same way, though that's mostly because I hated the driving in GTA4 and there's no driving in Yakuza to fuck up.

Spigot keep telling me it's the best thing I'll get to Shenmue, and it even has a better fighting system. Can't beat that.

Yeah, pretty much. The combat works really well, though the dodging and camera take a little getting used to. The solidity of the fighting is what really sells it. There's a great visceral sense, where you know if you got hurt it was your fault, and when you brutally fuck someone up you feel like a badass.
