Because one obviously precludes the other. Just look at all the people who now can't drive after playing Gran Turismo.

- Red Steel 2 will require the Wii Motion Plus (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/30/red-steel-2-is-motionplus-exclusive-cel-shaded/).

- Is a fourth set of Fallout 3 DLC on the way (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/next-fallout-3-dlc-called-point-look)? A US retailer is listing something called "Point Look" as part of a retail set with the upcoming "Broken Steel" DLC.

- Repairs continue apace at the Large Hadron Collider (http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9595_22-294089.html). Forecast calls for scattered headcrabs with a possibility of zombies this September when the LHC is scheduled to go operational.

I would expect him to know better. One takes a few hours to learn where as the other takes years, let the people have their fun.

I still have nothing but love for him...

I love that story (http://blog.reddit.com/2008/11/crowbar-arrived-at-cern-freeman-was.html) about the guys who mailed a crowbar to the Hadron staff, and one of the people there got the joke and sent back images of the crowbar-armed staff member facing off against somebody standing there with a headcrab on.

I think he does know better, if you read the linked article. Still, I respect his preference. He really is an underrated guitarist and to champion the learning of real skill is something that isn't done enough nowadays. Anything that takes patience and determination is somewhat cast aside.

As a guitarist and someone who enjoys Rock Band/Guitar Hero, I can see the differences and enjoy them on their own merits. But as an artist, I can see how it could be important to prefer "learn my song, not the 5 button version".

I hear you, and I respect his opinion for the record.

I just disagree. The way I see it, somebody likes my song enough to want to rock to it, let them rock. There are of course exceptions, and Prince, right along side anyone else, is allowed to do whatever he likes with his own music. Just my policy with my music.

I play bass in a band (http://www.myspace.com/tenyeardrought), for what it is worth...

Edit: I haven't read the article, but I am sure he knows better.

Cripes, how many teams does Raven have these days? Seems they're working on Singularity and a new Wolfenstein, and they just wrapped Wolverine. I figured the Wolverine team would be absorbed into one of the other two when they were done, but apparently not.

In part it seemed like he wasn't interested in the monetary rewards offered for doing a GH: Prince. And then it seems like, stop faking, and pick up a axe was the second part of his answer. I don't know how much he think he should get of the cut. The 2 billion activision makes if that is from a whole series of games. I'm sure he got offered a decent amount for activision.

I hate the argument "I'd rather play real guitar than Rock Band/GH" but I love Prince, I am so torn ;_;

Sucks I'll never be able to play "Kiss" to my girlfriend in RB now... damn. I'm seriously disappointed.

I don't pretend to speak for all musicians, hell, I don't hold his opinion myself. I just mean that there are a few ways I can see it- and I don't fault him for wanting people to learn his music on an instrument.

- Red Steel 2 will require the Wii Motion Plus (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/30/red-steel-2-is-motionplus-exclusive-cel-shaded/).

This is excellent news. The first Red Steel was full of excellent ideas, and would have been a very solid game if it hadn't been rushed to release. Even as it was, I had a good time with it.

Given how much I like the new graphical style for Red Steel 2, hearing that they've got the cahones to require Wii Motion Plus makes me very hopeful that they'll get the swordfighting right.

I think I'll be picking this up this winter.

They should work out a deal with Nintendo and get a bundle.

Think of the sales; Red Steel 2 + Motion Plus + Wii Mote. It might even outsell Wii Play!

great to hear more Fallout 3 content is possibly coming. also good to hear Prince passed on GH... because seriously.. who the fk cares about prince. other than the song on Batman (michael Keaton) what else has the guy done to warrant having a game? Sure list his accomplishments, i still don't care about Prince, or the symbol he formerly was.

Actually, lots of people care about Prince. He's an extremely talented musician.

Definitely one of most talented musicians of the last 30 years. Way underrated, just wish he would have stayed away from the religion end of the wacko spectrum, it really hurt his music when he went ape shit for it. At least when he is in he is ALL IN though. And for gods sake, release some of the old vaulted stuff would ya Prince.

"Well, I ain't mad at them. I hear it made, like, $2 billion and they came to us and offered us a very small portion of that," explained Prince.

Sounds like he was also miffed at the lowball offer.

Prince can really do whatever the hell he wants. It's great that he has enough control over his own music to be able to say "no" to Activision.
