This was a pretty cool week for me. Keith Baker, the maker of the Eberrron setting, Gloom card game, and other fun things in the computer and tabletop gaming arena just spent a few days at my house. He is doing his world-wide Have Dice, Will Travel (http://gloomforge.livejournal.com/16646.html#cutid1) tour. It was a lot of fun getting to know him, and being able to play a game with the guy that CREATED the setting adds a level of awesome. My normal game group and I got to play in a 4th edition Eberron setting last night. It went really well, and everyone had a blast.

It was also a whole lot of fun getting to know him, and show him the sites of Boise.

Sorry, just wanted to brag a bit. It was pretty darn cool. :-)

Nice! How do you know him, if that's not too personal a question. Did you glean any useful insider tidbits about what's next for the game and setting from him? :D

If you look at the link, he was doing an "open call" for place to crash on his trip. I offered, and he accepted.

No real useful tips, except that the 4th ed books are coming out this summer... which is a known. :-) He was just a geek, and it was fun to BS with him. :-)

1. I live in Boise and I wasn't invited to play so screw you. :(
2. That's awesome. I've met Keith a couple of times but I've never really had the chance to hang out with him, but he does seem like a pretty normal geek.

Between my game group, and additional friends on hand, it was a pretty full house. It was the first time I had met him. He was VERY cool. He did have a signing at Hastings, though. :-)
