Anyone still play Halo 3 at all?

So, out of boardom mostly, I just finnished playing through Halo 1,2, and 3. I actually really enjoyed it but now I'm itching to play a little MP but quite frankly, I'm afraid to just jump onto a regular server because I know I'll make a total ass of myself :) So I figured, if I'm gonna humiliate myself it might as well be around friends. :)

I'm pretty much a total noob at Halo MP. I played a couple days of deathmatch when H3 came out but thats it. I've never played any halo co-op at all, and only that little bit of DM.

Any people out there still into playing Halo 3, either regularely or off and on? :)

Hey guys sorry I haven't gotten back to this thread till now. I was rather sick yesterday.

Thanks for your replies, I'll invite you to my friends list. I'm actually pretty noobish to xbox live. Other then those few online Halo games I meantioned I really haven't used my gold membership for much of anything.

Does H3 rank people based on some scoring system? Will it try to put me in with weaker players or will I be thrown in with hardcore Halo fans that'll eat my face? :)

It will match you according to rank. And considering that the rest of us are probably a higher rank, it will skew the team matches toward our ranks. If we get enough interest, there's always custom.

I used to play regularly, but I can easily jump right back into Halo 3. Plus I'll have an excuse to buy the new maps.

I quit playing this around the time we started to ONLY play the rocketbike game.. I still have the cat helmet, and game.. I wouldn't mind running through coop again at some point, but right now my 360 is in Texas..

Edit: How are the new maps? I have neither of the xpacs currently. I am not against getting them but I was wondering if someone could tell me if they are both worth it.

I also was thinking that for now, if I play without the xpacs I'll be more likely to be paired up with other casual players.

Well I was looking at the MP/DM of H3 and it looks like you can't even play the most popular game types if you don't have the xpac maps downloaded. :(

A dirty trick if you ask me, but a great way to make sure your maps sell I guess. :)
