View Full Version : Pepsi Natural is actually sort of good.

It's a shame it's like $2 per 12 oz. bottle, I could actually enjoy this stuff.

It's weird too, because it tastes sorta familiar, like it's still the same formula and everything, but since it's made with real crap instead of laboratory chemicals it manages to taste the same, and yet totally different.

I prefer Coke....Diet Coke even. I won't even touch Diet Pepsi or Pepsi One though. That crap is nasty.

When I was a pop drinker, Pepsi was my choice soda. I might try this just for the hell of it.

What Is In Pepsi Raw?

Pepsi Raw has such natural ingredients as cane sugar, coffee leaf, natural caramel coloring, apple extract, grape tantaric acid, natural gum Arabic and sparkling water. In comparison, the ingredients of regular Pepsi include high fructose corn syrup, sugar, artificial colorings, phosphoric acid, caffeine, citric acid and natural flavors.
Carbonated With Less Calories

With less carbonation, the drink does not have as much of a fizz factor. However, the natural Pepsi Raw contains nine fewer calories than the unnatural version, which has 126 calories per 300-ml can.

Hmmm not bad at all. I prefer all-natural products as well, so as long as this isn't too sugary I may give this a shot.

Mexican bottled Coke or Pepsi. The hell with corn syrup. Why the hell did this country choose corn syrup over real sugar? Cane sugar quotas? What the hell...

Anyways, yeah. Mexican cola's, si. Gringo cola's, no damn bueno.

Cost. And the corn lobby.

Cost. And the corn lobby.

I thought it was the other way around; the corn lobby caused the increase in cost by lobbying for tariffs.

Yeah but that's the only thing that's natural about it. I almost bought a bottle of throwback at first because I wondered what real sugar Mt. Dew would taste like, but then I saw a bottle of the natural and decided to go with. Real kola nut extract is a good lure for me, love that shit.

Funny thing is, Pepsi's finally pulling head from ass and at least selling real sugar soda in the US, but down in Mexico, famous land of cane sugar soda, Pepsi's started selling Pepsi-cola with HFCS.

The only diet Coke I can drink is sweetened with Splenda, Aspartame makes me feel sick.

I bought some of the throwback Pepsi and Mountain Dew this morning. I will give them a try over the next few days. I didn't see Pepsi Raw, I will try it if I come across it.

When I was young I liked Pepsi over Coke but as I grew older I became a fan of Coke. I hope these throwbacks really do taste like the older Pepsi. If so, I may become a fan of Pepsi again. Does anyone know if the throwback product is a limited run promotion?

*Never mind - Found out it is only available for 8 weeks!

Well... at least the good news is that the Pepsi Natural will be around for a while. (http://www.bevreview.com/2009/03/05/pepsi-natural/)

It's also interesting to note that the Raw and Natural are not the same... similar, but not exactly the same. Natural has more calories (barely) than Raw.

Coca-Cola as a company have won me over lately with the Zero range (especially Sprite Zero) they make. No caffeine, no sugar. Hell, the only real bad thing in it is Aspartame. Not sure if they have the Zero range of drinks in the US though.

Well, we at least have Coke Zero in Canada. Make of that what you will.

Yay, power of the corn lobby! Seriously, not a joke. They got importation of cane sugar restricted.

I've been looking for some of this to try, but none of my local grocery stores (Pittsburgh) seem to have it, or at least I haven't come across it yet.

I hope it succeeds enough to start showing up in more places.

Speaking of ads, check my sig.! ;)

This is truth. We have a taco truck that comes by the office every day and they have bottles of Mexican Coke AND Mexican Pepsi. Glass Bottle on all. It's about 50 cents more then regular American Coke/Pepsi, but the taste is worth it.

I would definitely try this if I saw it for sale. I generally am happy to find kosher coke, I try to not buy any food with HFCS in it.

I have a store within walking distance that sells it for $3.50 a 4 pack...
Taking orders right now.
$3.50 plus tax, shipping ,and handling.

Of course if you feel like tipping too, I won't say anything.

If I come across it, I may give it a try. I tend to prefer Coke - well, technically, Cherry Coke - or Mountain Dew, but I'd be interested in seeing how much of a difference natural ingredients can have on the taste.

Of course, this thread has also reminded me that a little old lady once gave me a recipe for homemade soda. I may end up giving that a try one day.

Seriously, I'm not a soda drinker at all. More of a tea person.

...but the Mexican soda is sooo good, I could drink it all day. Just one after another.

You suck water

Is it really that good? I found a 4 pack for like $4.50 at a Safeway. But I can get 6 IBC Rootbeer/Cream/Black Cherry's for less, so I'm kind of hesitant to try it.

This is the win here. IBC bottled rootbeer is the bomb. It has a special burn that no other soda can match.

The Mountain Dew Throwback tastes a lot like Diet Mountain Dew. I think the HFCS stuff has a better taste. I only bought it to try it again, and then back to water.

A note here: I quit drinking soda a couple years ago. After six months I gave up and started again - but the HFCS stuff tasted...weird. It didn't taste sweet like it had, but after a couple weeks of drinking it, it tasted normal again....

I really think the HFCS isn't that sweet but if you consume it regularly it alters your tastebuds.

Hell, I finally gave up sweetened soft drinks for good, and now even the diet shit tastes sweet to me. Sigh.
