As Games, Not Comics
Activision Blizzard continues down their path of regurgitation with two more franchises. High Moon studios (The Bourne Conspiracy) will now begin work on a new "Transformers" title while Radical Entertainment (Prototype) takes the helm of a new "Spider-Man" title.
In the case of Spider-Man, that's not really surprising as the franchise has veered away from the film tie-ins three times already (and on a personal note, Web Of Shadows is actually a pretty fun game to play). However, this looks to be the first time that Transformers will break away from the tie-in factor and go its own way, at least since the release of the two recent films.
High Moon's Transformers game looks to be released sometime in 2010, the same as when Radical would release their Spider-Man title. That is, of course, if Prototype doesn't do well enough to garner a sequel, which seems unlikely.
Honestly, I'd like them to combine their talents and put Transformers in a Spider-Man game. Having Optimus launch Spidey halfway across Manhattan is something I'd pay for.
