System Linking Wii's

Is it possible to system link 10 wii's with a game like rockband to play a round-robin battle of the bands?

I can imagine the setup being: 1 central hub/router broadband internet connection, 10 wiis on wi-fi.

In order for all the wii's to communicate with each other (play vs) would they all need to have each others console code in their address book?

I don't believe the Wii has any kind of LAN play. You have to go all the way up to their servers and back down.

so far (from the co-optimus) site Rockband 2 is the (or going to be) the only lan enabled game.
