Needless to say constantly tapping the touchpads tap to click feature while typing is pretty annoying. I'm trying to either disable the tap to click option or the entire touchpad all together but I'm having some issues with the only program I can find.

This is what I get when I attempt to open System> Preferences > Touchpad

GSynaptics couldn't initialize.
You have to set 'SHMConfig 'true' in xorg.conf or XF86Config
to use GSynaptics

Problem is I don't see a SHMConfig line in xorg.conf Am I suppose to just add the line?

I know there's an option for the synaptics drivers in xorg.conf to disable the touchpad for x number of seconds after a keystroke, but I don't know it offhand. Google should be able to find it for you.

Thanks for the advice, I'll do some poking around.
