Machinima - (pronounced /məˈʃiːnəmə/ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:IPA_for_English) or /məˈʃɪnəmə/), a Portmanteau (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portmanteau_word) of machine cinema,[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machinima#cite_note-0) is a collection of associated production techniques whereby computer-generated imagery (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer-generated_imagery) (CGI) is rendered (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rendering_%28computer_graphics%29) using real-time, interactive 3-D (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3D_computer_graphics) engines instead of professional 3D animation software. Engines from first-person shooter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First-person_shooter) and role-playing simulation video games (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game) are typically used. Consequently, the rendering can be done in real-time using PCs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_computer) (either using the computer of the creator or the viewer), rather than with complex 3D engines using huge render farms (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Render_farm). Usually, machinima productions are produced using the tools (demo recording, camera angle, level editor, script editor, etc.) and resources (backgrounds, levels, characters, skins, etc.) available in a game. - Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machinima)

Watched the World of Workcraft and Portal: A Day in the Life of a Turret. Both were absolutely hilarious. It's good to see this kind of film making properly supported.

Exactly. There's some really impressive Machinima out there, and it's nice to see it being supported and people being rewarded accordingly.

That trailer for Havoc is really great. I'll have to track down the full video when I have some time..

You know if the guy who did Haloid or Dead Fantasy added a speckle of story and one of those epics battles he's good at, he'd be my vote.

There was one a while back called Return or something similar that did huge in the WoW Machinima world - and potentially beyond - and a trailer was released over a year ago for the sequel and nay a peep since. Has anyone heard anything or did I skip over it entirely? Freaking loved that short and want to see the follow-up.
