This week on XBLA we get three new titles, all costing an identical 800 MS points.

Beat'n Groovy (http://majornelson.com/archive/2008/10/08/arcade-beat-n-groovy.aspx) - A music/rhythm game

Shadow Assault/Tenchu (http://majornelson.com/archive/2008/10/08/arcade-shadow-assault-tenchu.aspx) - A 1-4 player ninja action game.

MLB Stickball (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=629) - An adorable stickball game starring your favorite Major Leaguers.

Man! I thought it was going to be just MLB Stickball, and I was all, "whatever," but I'm all about Bemani games, and have been waiting for Beat'n Groovy for some time. Can't wait.

I would much rather have just one title, where my ninja character beats to a different groove in each level, wielding his ginormous stick and balls. :D

:ban me now. Save me from myself: No, wait; don't. ;)

They should have packaged the two and called it Beat'n your Stick and Balls.

Beat'n Groovy has the worst control scheme ever! A music/rhythm game were the colors of the "beats" on screen doesn't match the color of the buttons on the controller? EPIC FAIL

The Tenchu game wasn't that bad actually. Surprise of the day.

Actually, Beat n' Groovy has a perfect control scheme for a Beatmania/DJ Max style game. Ignore the note colors and focus on the position of the notes and you'll understand why it makes sense.

As someone that owns Pop'n Music 6,8,9,10,11,12,13, and 14, though... I can totally skip this one. It's just appalling how they managed to strip everything that makes Pop'n so good out of this release. The game has a horrible interface, is ugly as sin, lacks the nice, quirky music, announcer, and presentation that makes Pop'n such a great game. The song selection, while tiny, does at least include some decent selections.

I thought all three sucked. Sorry. :(
