Aion

Massively posts their impressions of Aion (http://www.massively.com/2009/03/27/gdc09-hands-on-with-aion/) from their time at GDC. Seems fairly interesting, especially the fact that all players eventually learn to fly at a certain level.

Huxley

Another GDC update (http://www.massively.com/2009/03/30/gdc09-massively-previews-huxley-a-hybrid-sci-fi-mmo-and-fps/) from Massively concerning the elusive MMOFPS Huxley. This is a game I was very interested in years ago, but there has been little to no information for quite a while. Plus, the fact that its development was focused on the Korean market had me a little worried about what kind of gameplay decisions that might entail. At the very least, it looks like we might get a chance to play the title at some point in the future.

Hero Engine

While not a game, the Hero Engine is a promising MMO development toolset put together by Simutronics, the developers of Hero's Journey. This is the engine being used by the upcoming Bioware Star Wars MMO. Read up (http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/174/feature/2883) on a quick look of the engine over at MMORPG.com

GDC

Shawn Shuster (http://www.massively.com/2009/03/29/gdc09-best-of-show-to-me/) over at Massively has posted his take on the best things shown at this year's GDC.

Earthrise

Another GDC update, this time concerning the sci-fi MMO Earthrise (http://www.massively.com/2009/03/29/gdc09-massively-previews-earthrise/) being developed by Masthead Studios. Looks like they are aiming to create a PvP-focused MMO similar to EVE Online based on the ground instead of in space. Looks like it could be interesting.

Black Prophecy

Official forums have gone live (http://www.forum.blackprophecy-game.com/index.php).

I was very interested in Huxley when it was announced. Now, I'm not sure I could muster the interest to give it a look. Way too much time has passed.

Was and still am interested in Huxley. though it had better be beyond stellar when it comes out. I remember it was announced for PC, then added 360 version but I think that the 360 one has been cut... any word on that? I'll still get Huxley when it comes out the same way I'm still going to get Duke Forever when it comes out... probably will be waiting just as long.

Hope you don't mind me adding that the Black Prophecy official forums are now live and there's a great gameplay trailer available for download. Details on the BP thread here (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?p=226591#post226591).

I've reread this criticism and it comes off as harsh instead of as constructive. After spending a few minutes trying to come up with ways to soften these into something that can be read constructively, I decided that you'd probably prefer a disclaimer at the top that says I'm honestly trying to be helpful over my making a much longer post to preserve your feelings.

1. Separating PC coverage into it's own site seems unnecessary. It's not like CoG's main news scrolls at an alarming rate or anything. Whatever floats your collective boats. Also, I think you meant "elusive" instead of "evasive".

2. I don't like "stories" that are simply a collection links. The idea of a news aggregation site is to restate the main points of the story succinctly and I'm fairly sure that Aion, for example, has more going on for it than that players can eventually fly.

The format of these "features" I do is mainly due to my own laziness. It's easier for me to grab bits of news as I have time and organize them into a single news post every week or so rather than try to make individual news posts for everything as it comes up. It's the same reason these posts have been so light, I just haven't taken the time to put together anything more detailed. At some point I want to get into bigger posts with more commentary, but this is how I'm choosing to start things off.

Plus, I'm not sure enough people on CoG/IM care about MMO news to have to scroll through longer posts more often.
