My main sources are

mtv.com's news page (the only thing I use MTV for)
billboard.com
blabbermouth.net

Clearly I could use some new choices....I think my best source is blabbermouth but that's metal only.

I periodically look up my favorite artists and see if they're selling anything new on Amazon or iTunes, or if they have songs I don't know about on YouTube.

Pitchfork covers most types of music I like and does so pretty quickly. I don't always agree with their 'holier-than-thou' review style, but as long as you're just looking for up-to-the-minute news? That'll do.

NME, Kerrang, MySpace friends of artists I like, Radio 1, friends, University Radio. The MySpace method is actually quite a good way I've found.

Billboard and rollingstone and sometimes just listen in to the PD's office at our country station when he's checking out new stuff...

I'll just go with all of the above. I love blabbermouth, but nothing is better than billboard and rolling stone.

Terrorizer for the most part. Guess I'm the only one who reads it.

I feel that Picthfork just feels the need to be complete dicks about certain bands just because they are just too cool... I don't get it. If its a Radiohead album its a perfect score, if Weezer they give a 0.4/10. Granted Weezer isn't so hot anymore... but still. My main injustice with them is their dislike for Nada Surf, I love me some Nada Surf.

My most trusted source for music news is Stereogum (http://www.stereogum.com). Fantastic website.

Another blog I get some info from is It's Hard to Find a Friend (http://hardtofindafriend.blogspot.com/). Good site, but its been slow to update lately.

Erm, mostly through osmosis - hearing things from friends or coworkers, or even things on this site.

Yeah, they're pretty unkind toward a lot of things I love (they gave Evil Urges like a four or something), but they also post updated tour dates all the time.

Dude, never read Pitchfork for the reviews. They're asinine.

I'll give them one thing -- I love me some No Age, and I probably wouldn't have found them without Pitchfork.

I get most of my music news from www.punknews.org its a great place to find out about of punk, indie, hardcore, and ska. They often have streams of things coming out soon and I have found a ton of cool bands.

Stereogum rocks, how could I forget them. If anyone is interested in up and coming bands, they provide their own news from their profiles over at thesixtyone.com (http://www.thesixtyone.com/). It's a social music MMO game. It's pretty cool with achievements, stats, and leveling up granting you new abilities on the site.
