Picks of the Week

Green Lantern Corps #29 & Green Lantern #35 - The Green Lantern line right now is the text book example of how to craft an event. For over a year now they've been teasing the Blackest Night, but all of the teases are built around solid stories. Nothing feels forced: no square peg tie ins, no sudden shifts in direction. You genuinely feel like they're building towards something huge, but the journey is just as much fun as the destination.

Deadpool #3 - I'll freely admit: I was wrong about this book. I disliked the first issue, but the second issue was absolutely awesome. Brutally funny and hilariously violent, just like Deadpool should be. It looks like they're moving away from the Secret Invasion juggernaut for now, which is just fine in my opinion.

End League #5 - The post-apocalyptic superhero story isn't exactly new, but the End League's long form take on the genre is still enthralling. Don't get me wrong, it's incredibly dark and gloomy, but it's beautifully so. All of the characters are familiar archetypes, but put into a situation that you'll never see them in at the Big Two.

Question of the Week - Crossovers. Comic history is rife with them. From the early days of the JSA to the time Superman fought Muhammad Ali, the medium seems to thrive on taking diverse characters and forcing them to interact. So this week I ask: Tell us your dream crossover, any characters, no matter how crazy!
