Picks of the Week
Green Lantern Corps #29 & Green Lantern #35 - The Green Lantern line right now is the text book example of how to craft an event. For over a year now they've been teasing the Blackest Night, but all of the teases are built around solid stories. Nothing feels forced: no square peg tie ins, no sudden shifts in direction. You genuinely feel like they're building towards something huge, but the journey is just as much fun as the destination.
Deadpool #3 - I'll freely admit: I was wrong about this book. I disliked the first issue, but the second issue was absolutely awesome. Brutally funny and hilariously violent, just like Deadpool should be. It looks like they're moving away from the Secret Invasion juggernaut for now, which is just fine in my opinion.
End League #5 - The post-apocalyptic superhero story isn't exactly new, but the End League's long form take on the genre is still enthralling. Don't get me wrong, it's incredibly dark and gloomy, but it's beautifully so. All of the characters are familiar archetypes, but put into a situation that you'll never see them in at the Big Two.
Question of the Week - Crossovers. Comic history is rife with them. From the early days of the JSA to the time Superman fought Muhammad Ali, the medium seems to thrive on taking diverse characters and forcing them to interact. So this week I ask: Tell us your dream crossover, any characters, no matter how crazy!

QotW: Just to be crazy, how about The Maxx, and Deadpool.
I wonder if even Deadpool would be confused in the Outback.

Thanks for bringing this topic here, Dr. Finger!
I want a Hellboy vs. Jughead vs. Jay and Silent Bob comic sort of thing.

Oh Tipton. You've won me over with this series. I'm not a big TOS fan, by any means. But even I know the basic layout of the bearded mythos of Star Trek. These issues have been fun in the way that the Thunderbolts are fun. Bad people doing bad things to other bad people. It's a show, and I like watching.
PotW #2: 13 Chambers
This one I am grabbing out of pure curiosity. It's a western, and I'm a sucker for westerns. That's it, really. Just diving right in. :)
And that's all folks.
Crossovers? Hmmmm.... Spawn and Lobo? Gen 13 and Tiny Titans?

I won't be getting my books for this week until sometime next week, but here they are.
Dark Horse
END LEAGUE #5
DC
Oh look? Nothing. Quel suprise... Though that Ferryman #1 looks intriguing...
Marvel
DEADPOOL #3 <---- POTW
INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #6
MARVEL ZOMBIES 3 #1 <--- Eh... we'll see...
Not a lot this week. Can't wait for more Deadpool. Marvel Zombies, on the other hand... esp. with Kirkman nowhere to be seen... I don't know. I'm esp. leery about them having the zombies actually arrive in 616, but I'll at least read the first issue to see Aaron Stack slice and dice them up.
And could Marvel please, please, PLEASE release the second trade of Immortal Iron Fist in, well, trade format? It's really annoying to see Vol. 3 hit in hardcover when the second hasn't been made available in softcover... esp. because my shop rarely stocks hardcovers unless you special order them and the prices are still out of whack.
As for the QOTW: Deadpool and Sleepwalker with Fabian N. and Dan Slott writing with Humberto Ramos drawing. That'd float my boat just fine.
Oh, and for the love of god, save your money and don't buy the Black Summer trade, though it might actually be a better series if you read it that way. I was less than impressed when reading it in single issues...

As I said in other threads, Deadpool v2 #2 came surprisingly close to matching the awesome of Deadpool v1 #11. Turns out Way can have really good ideas, he just has really bad ones too and they all get mixed in together. A real writer needs to do the dialogue as well.

Actually his take is terrible :p
He gets Deadpool "action" but not Deadpool himself.

I know the one S_D has been crying out for is Ambush Bug and Deadpool.OH yeah. I had mentioned that particular pairing a week or two ago. They could have a 4th-wall off.
Speaking of which, has Way had Deadpool actually break the 4th wall yet? Yes, he's nuts and everything, but I can't recall if this new version of Wade knows that he's a comic book character or not.
And Xerxes, NEVER LINK TO AN IMAGE FROM GODYSSEY AGAIN! Every time you do, an angel gets its wings clipped.

He did it in issue #2, in an admittedly hilarious way.
