LOL, nicely done. Fluid sites have to be very carefully planned out to work well, otherwise the reading column is just too wide for comfort.
I don't think this width is bad at all, although at the same time I wouldn't ever have a browser window that is say 1440 pixels wide anyway. 1024-1280 is the sweet spot in terms of readability... not that I can't override the width anyway. I'm less inclined to think a forum has to dictate the size though, people can simply resize their browser.
