Mercenaries 2 is a ton of fun, and Pandemic is trying to ensure that it stays that way. They've announced two sets of downloadable content for the game, the first of which is FREE!

The "Total Payback" update - available for the 360 on October 13th and on PSN on October 20th - will include six new playable characters, a host of 'cheats', as well as the long awaited addition of cross-region co-op play.

The second pack, which will be a for pay premium pack, was announced for November, but no other details were revealed.

Well, that's cool that they're giving the first update as free DLC, and includes 6 characters and the cross-region co-op.

I just wish it had LAN support.

I can't figure out why EA makes co-op games that you can't play co-op! Both this and Army of Two are games I'd like to try out, but the lack of LAN play means it's basically dead in the water.
